The first Lincoln pickup truck since the ill-fated Blackwood arrives in the 2006 model year wearing a pricetag of $39,995, Ford said on Tuesday. The company has big plans for the Mark LT, the F-150-based Lincoln truck that will come in rear-drive and 4x4 form (the latter priced from $43,495. To promo the big new truck, Lincoln will spend its first money in a decade on Super Bowl advertisements; Lincoln also will sponsor the Sport Illustrated Super Swimsuit Party at the Super Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 5, the day before the big event. And to cap it all off, Lincoln is giving away a "Jet to Jacksonville" package on its Web site, http://www.lincoln.com, to a lucky winner who gets tickets to the game, airfare and hotel, and tickets to the swimsuit party, too.

unfortunately there is a market for a $40K truck,:disgust: and people will buy it.

Ford should be ashamed of releasing a Lincoln F-150.
 
Lincoln = el cheapo

Father has navigator. Biggest POS evar. Air suspension has been replaced twice. Drivers seat was replaced twice (cheap ass leather). The interior really offers no "luxury". Its the same as a F-150 pretty much (dash looks the exact same). The "wood" panels are really cheap ass knockoff plastic. Nothing about it is "luxurious". The ride itself is pretty hideous.

....but it can carry all of our stuff when on the road and the added safety is nice.

If you want luxury, buy a Benz or a '59 Cadillac Deville.

If you want a truck.. buy a truck.

Sorry i meant bodystyle... Platform sharing can be good if done right like the Mazda 3, Volvo s40 and the next generation Focus
 
Wasnt the Blackwood priced about 50k? It was also saddled with a unuseable bed.

I like the new Lincoln, if it rides better than the Ford, I would hope it does and has some nice features it could take some of the F-150 market.

A fully loaded Lariet can creep up to the 40-41k mark, and if this is starting at that same range, with lots of standard epuipment might end up being a better deal. All depends on incentives of course, and Lincoln is pretty liberal with them.

I think the Harley model is only made in the Super Duty these days, and the King Ranch is nice, but maybe a little "redneckish" for the luxury pick-up buyer.

I want one, a pick-up that rides like a Town Car, and has a useable bed? Its like my fantasy. Sign me up.
 
Is it all that different from Armada vs QX56? Or Escalade EXT vs Avalanche? Or Lexus LX470 vs LandCruiser.
I think it will sell reasonably well, and considering it didn't cost them much to develop this over the regular F-150, it's not a big risk even if they don't sell many of them.
They should put it on bigger rims, and they will be all set.
