Ok, I don't get it. What is the beef with Limp Bizkit? I mean, they've always sucked, but that didn't nonetheless stop them from developing a big following. Is there some particular reason fans all of a sudden hate them?

i think limp just appeared "at the right time" with their music style, it was not something commonly found at the time and for some they thought it was a fresh new change even if it was not. i do believe limp has some done some good stuff, first CD was pretty decent, started going down hill from there .. the MTV effect i guess. bet it was a blast to watch them get booed off stage though

I was at the show and part of it was caused by Durst's repeated slamming of Mancow (a chicago shock jock). They were only on stage for like 40 minutes or so (all the bands played for 60 mintues save for Metallica which played for 2hrs). The best part was 3 or 4 songs into Metallica's set James was talking to the crowd and did one of those "how about a round of of applause for the other bands today" and every band got a big cheer from the crowd until he said "Limp Bizkit" and everyone booed, and booed, and booed. It was so sweet.

The famously brainless Durst only fanned the flames, first encouraging the catcalls and flying trash, then swerving into a bizarre tirade against the crowd and city. Ranting that he'd fight anyone in earshot and spluttering explicit sexual putdowns, uncreative curses and ludicrous homophobic slurs, Durst simply self-destructed.

Limp Bizkit has sucked for a long time now. Only decent cd was the first one, the only one i own. the rest are pathetic.

 

I would have rather seen a boo-fest for Metallica. It's hard to believe that a band which sues its own fans doesn't get booed offstage. I guess that's corporate greed at its finest.

2 songs of St. Anger, 1 off Reload, 3 off the Black Album, 3 off Justice, 3 off Puppets, 2 off Ride, and 2 off Kill'em All. And I'd say 75% of the crowd was signing along to everyone of them. Easily one of the best shows I've ever been to.

They were the main part of the show. I highly doubt that the Metallica-hating-crew would have payed to get in to the show in the first place, so why would they have been booed by everyone.

Limp Bizkit on the other hand was just a side show. Nobody was actually there to see them, so it is understandable that they got booed off.

The aborted set left fans to wait more than 90 minutes for Metallica, but the mood never turned ugly--maybe because a lengthy delay was better than suffering through any more Limp Bizkit.
