Lime-ish green tie with navy suit?

I have this sweet Green tie with stripes (pink stripes) and I dont know if its acceptable to wear it with a white shirt. Anyone else have input? The pink stripes are small.

Seriously though, white seems to be more of a serious/formal thing for a shirt, and your tie definately is not.
