And you guys call Limbaugh racist?

I'm white, I'm entitled to criticize my own race. I grew up under a father who was most likely in the Klan, so I know veiled racism when I see it. You can't hide it from someone who knows it.

And anyone defending Limbaugh has no ground to stand on when it comes to racism. Just why are you defending an obvious sub-human piece of shit like Slobber the Gut?

Because the intellectual impediments to defending him, namely that he said horribly racist things, have been destroyed; his dishonest opposition cooked them up, and ate them up.

So that changes the environment: it changes my perception of him, and his opponents.

I'd HOPE Obama is more successful, smart, and liked than me. He's the President. I don't really care if I come in a close 2nd to him. Also, I don't care what race he is.. its his policies I care about. I'm not sure why you think him being black would make a difference to me since I have not posted anything racist, but it doesn't surprise me that you and other libs will try to paint me as such.

Further proof that Harvey is nothing but a DISHONEST LIAR and PARTISAN HACK. Rush's song is mocking an LA Times writer and Biden among others for THEIR racist statements. But feel not to point out the facts because you've admitted being accurate in what you say does not matter.

Harvey might be 70 years old but i'd rather have him watching my back than you and FNE.

At heast he's honest and passionate and clever enough to actually have what you guys call "macros" which is just your dismissal of evidence because you have no way of refuting actual facts.

Read one of them and tell me ONE thing that isn't exactly according to the truth in ANY of them... I know it might hurt your sensitivities to actually read anything bad about your heroes but just this once? Pretty please with sugar on top?

I'd take Harvey seriously if he held Obama to the same standards as Bush. He doesn't. He also admits that openly fabricating statements is acceptable if its done to people he disagrees with. His macros are also just copy and pastes from other people's websites. He hasn't done any 'research' of anything. He's simply copied crap other people have done and put it into a macro and posts it in every other thread that has NOTHING to do with Bush.

Ok, with that kindergarten tactic out of the way... did you have anything to say or was that just your brain cell colliding with the skull bone inside your empty head?

The 'No U R' response is right above the 'Your stupid' response that you just posted. Congrats on fighting a kindergarten tactic with a 1st grade one.

I've openly supported Condi Rice for President in this forum. I guess that makes me a racist and a sexist.

Limbaugh purposely tries to upset people on both sides so that he can make money.

It is quite hilarious that you think you need to help him clear his name.

Another word that comes to mind is troll.

Why even mention Limbaugh? He is completely irrelevant except in the minds of a small percentage of delusional lonely people who get a sense of power by listening to someone else tell them how to think.

It's possible to post something newsworthy in the news and politics forum while hoping people don't succumb to the desire to act like 5 year olds.

Or maybe it isn't.

Is it newsworthy? Aren't there topics that ARE newsworthy that are actually drowned in the sheit threads like this one?

If THIS is considered newsworthy then bring on Paris Hilton and what she said yesterday, it's just as fucking newsworthy and i bet a lot more people care about that in the US.

That's the problem: this isn't newsworthy. Anyone with an IQ above 80 knows Limbaugh is a racist, and that he intentionally baits with race issues. Just like you intentionally posted this trash in hopes of baiting the 95% of us who despise Limbaugh for what he is. Congratulations. You're a dittohead.

BTW while I consider myself a conservative, for lack of a better term. I think Rush is a fat idiot regardless of any possible racial comments. Do these same black players have a problem with the murders, rapists, dog fighters, drug addicts, and racists that play beside them?

That isn't the point. When people start believing that something as ridiculous as the above quotes could have come out of your mouth, you're already in trouble. He's built a reputation for himself that calling out specific quotes about the ridiculous things he's said is like the boy who cried wolf.

Maybe the 'reputation' has been built by news organizations using comments he's made out of context, and also comments that he NEVER made but they failed to fact check against him? In the past if 'news' reporters would have taken a quote like that and aired it without fact checking it, they would be fired. Now they are given awards.

Of course, THAT isn't the point either. The point is we have LIES being posted about Mr. Limbaugh by 'news' organizations that supposedly happened DECADES ago being posted NOW that he is attempting to own an NFL franchise. That strikes me as the 'news' organizations attempting to INFLUENCE the news not REPORT the news.

I'm curious about what you are claiming here, you say that he doesn't hold Obama to the same standard? Give me some example, one will do, just one.

You failed to respond to my question, is there ANYTHING that is wrong in these "macros" that he posts? Anything at all, any words, any quotes, any actions taken?

Many of his listeners WANT to hear this type of divisive race baiting. Its what makes him money. Limbaugh himself admitted he is only in this to make profit. His schtick is all an act. His comments do have consequence and he has to take responibility for those comments, thats why he is constantly saying hes "sorry". He should post a diclaimer before his show airs stating that this is all an act. But that would make his listeners heads explode. He should air a warning before and after his show: "The Rush Limbaugh show is merely entertainment and Rush Limbaugh is only an entertainer and if you feel yourself being swayed during the next three hours, you should seek medical attention immediately."

Interesting to see the blatant disregard for responsibility exhibited by Rush's defenders. As though everyone is completely blameless for the angry hate that currently seethes through the US political and cultural situation. If Rush is not at least partially to blame for cultivating such a vitriolic atmosphere then just how did we get here?

The guy is publicly visible and heard daily by millions. He is not espousing much in a positive regard and is intentionally over the top. But one problem is that most people probably take Rush at his word, that he really does believe what he says. But that he self admittedly does not, its critical for each listener to recognize he will say anything for personal gain. He will shamelessly lie to you and not give a damn about the consequences as long as it makes him a buck.

When I was a kid, I watched wrestling every Saturday morning, and I loved it. And then, perhaps through maturity, I realized that wrestling was fake, and I stopped watching it. Three decades later, wrestling is bigger than ever, and I realize it's not kids watching. It's grown men.

Rush Limbaugh discovered a sector of our society which have certain fringe beliefs, and began preaching to those persons as though they were his flock. Like wrestling, he created a persona to "entertain" Like wrestling, it's always been entertainment and about the money. And like wrestling, many of his "flock" cannot see that it's fake. They believe. They are sheep. They are the Dittoheads.

Some people would call his deception a fraud. Black's Law Dictionary defines fraud as "an intentional perversion of the truth for the purpose of inducing another in reliance upon it to part with some valuable thing belonging to him or to surrender a legal right."

The problem with arguing fraud is that Rush Limbaugh is so over the top that the listener would have to be a idiot to not know it was just entertainment. It doesn't mean that Rush isn't a idiot, but can you really blame Rush for his listener's stupidity? If I were eleven, I might be susceptible to such "intentional perversions of the truth..." But alas, I have grown up.

His is the archetypal path that a lowly seminary student can follow to go from preacher to televangelist superstar, where the fame, fans, money and POWER flow like milk and honey. And that power is based on the flocks admiration and blind allegiance to the one that feeds their need for spirituality, or in the case of Limbaugh, the need to release their deeply rooted hatred.

It is that ability to whip up the his followers into an active frenzy that strikes fear in the hearts of republican leaders and lawmakers. In Limbaugh they found their mystical conservative icon with which to align themselves. But like the master that suddenly becomes the student to his apprentice, they find that the real power comes from he who can actually control the zombies.

Perhaps some listeners should harken to your Personal Savior: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God".
Everyone else will ignore this post because it makes too much damn sense.

I didn't want the opportunity to slip by without saying thank you for your post.

well done.

To be clear, the issue is fabricated quotes. Words were attributed to Rush that he never said, and he is now telling the media outlets that repeated those quotes to either produce the source material, issue a retraction, or face legal action. That's the proper course of action to take, and he has the resources to pursue them. I applaud his efforts, far to much of the news we receive is little more than rumor mongering.

This isn't a problem strictly limited to Rush, or even the Left. There have been outright fabrications going on for well over a year. Death Panels, Birthers, ect. It dates back to the campaign, and in my opinion, the tactics used by the McCain campaign. Obama started off as inexperienced, warped into a celebrity, then a terrorist sympathizer, and finally a socialist.

I have more problems with politics than I do with policies (on both sides).

I agree, the problem is wide spread. I was simply trying to keep the topic confined to Rush, and point out the attempted misdirection. The problem with this forum is that so many people here are convinced of their own superiority. Sadly, those same people don't understand that their form of bigotry and hate is no different than any other.

And I trust you to have my back, as well.

Thanks, my friend. I've been telling them that and demanding they disprove anything in them since those "macros" were brand new words on the page. They take a lot of time to compile, write and format for the forums, and facts don't change. I edit them each time I post to use the parts that are relevant to a given posts, but there's no point in re-writing them completely every time I post the same answers when they keep bringing up the same tired old bullshit, time after time, after time. Either, they're too mouse challenged to find anything to refute the information in my "macros," or they don't want to know the truth, or they're too reading challenged to understand it when it's in front of their noses.

In this case, xchangx and Fear No Evil cited David Ehrenstein's piece in the Los Angeles as supposed "evidence" that Paul Shanklin's parody song and Limbaugh playing it were somehow equivalents. Sadly, they were too lazy read read the entire editorial and the actual lyrics as sung in the parody song or too stupid to understand them so they didn't have a clue that they were actually diametrically opposite in their intent and meaning.

I suspect their single digit IQ's will keep them from comprehending this post, as well. :p

Don't rush me. As of the first of the month, I'm just a kid of 68.

And I trust you to have my back, as well.

It's become common to just say "macro" instead of acknowledging that it's fact, those words were spoken and the actions were taken, there isn't any opinion in facts, there really isn't, facts presented as they are are just that.

I know some medias confuse people to think that opinions are facts and facts are opinions but it's not so my tweety little one.

Its people like you who prove that we should never ever elect black officials, never ever have black super athletes, never ever allow blacks to do anything.

You feel they aren't equal and need protection from criticism and parody.

Yet it is FOOLS like you who will call Bush every name in the book and call it "free speech" or "he lied"

Well as long as YOU the REAL RACIST continue to have those thoughts and feelings about black people needing your glorious "WHITE PROTECTION" then racism will never die because you PERPETUATE IT!!!!!!
