I finally got Debian to install onto my laptop and LILO is on my MBR. I can not get to win98 now. I press shift during bootup to get the options of which OS to use but win98 is not available. I also tried pressing 'a' to get a list of active and nonactive systems but even that does not help. I need help here badly. I know I can take off Debian to get back to win98 but I really don't want to do this since it took me so long to configure and fet past the inital setup of LInux.

Since you just helped me, I'm gonna try and help you.

(I had no idea about the SHIFT thing nor the 'a' thing. I guess I didn't read my docs. I was using Win2K's loader to dual-boot anyway, but I felt a lil naked without my interactive LILO prompt. Is there anyway to get a "normal" interactive LILO prompt?)

Anyway, ....

I am wondering if you /etc/lilo.conf file even mentions you other bootable OSes. Take a look and see if there is something like:

other=/dev/hda1
...label=windows

(I can't indent, so I am using ellipses.)

If it is not there, add it and rerun lilo (as root). Correct the /dev/hda1 to your Windows install, wherever it may be. See if things come up on your next reboot.

Thanks for your help. I hope I have returned the favor.
