The Maga base threw Trump off from combating COVID. You don't remember the anti-mask, anti-science and ivermectin crap? The death threats to Fauci? You don't remember Trump getting driven around in the Presidential limo when he had COVID and then went to the White House and immediately removed his mask?
If the Republicans had a damn moral or ethical spine they would have voted to rightfully impeach Trump for trying to strong arm Ukraine and the last few years of insanity would have been tamped down, but have instead spent their time on outrage and fabricating a parallel universe of alternate facts to spoon feed the moronic base which can simultaneously believe that Jan. 6 was a tourist outting, an FBI/ANTIFA false flag and also feel the need to blur faces so those Maga "patriots" don't get charged by the DOJ.
Impeaching Biden is a time suck performative piece to divert attention away from the fact that the Republican party never even deigned to release a platform because they know that their base and Trump are just going to demand they say and do crazy shit everyday and that the party base will just lie to themselves and each other to try and make it look like there is some grand coherent plan rather than the firehose of bullshit they are actually fed while being grifted into facsism.

Impeachment is political by design.
Regardless, Trump worked long and hard to earn both impeachments. First, trying to subvert US foreign policy to get himself re-elected and second to try and overthrow the government when he lost.

2) trump tries to end democracy on January 6.
If those aren't impeachable, essentially nothing is. Grow a fucking spine.

This is in many ways the goal of Republicans impeaching Biden. They know it won’t succeed but once they do it they can say ‘every president gets impeached now, it’s all political’ and so that sidesteps what you mention - that Trump was impeached for an attempted coup.
