Can the zombies hinder your performance? It would be hilarious if the lead runner lost a position because of this and knocked some zombies out in a testosterone rage.

6' 0'', 165lbs. I've been focusing on lifting lately so my cardio isn't that great. If I kicked up the running and biking starting this week I might be able to do it.

You are already in shape with those stats, you just have to start running and do it 3-5 times a week and you will have no problems being ready for this event.

Reading this got me thinking that if the zombie outbreak starts in Kenya or Ethiopia, we're pretty much screwed as a species. You're going to outrun a zombie that can maintain a 10+ mph pace for hours on end? I don't think so.

They should allow the uninfected to use paint ball guns. That would make it even more awesome. Also, you can have people dressed up as national guard troops trying to shoot everyone with paint balls while trying to "contain" the outbreak.

It says on their site something about how the Zombies and runners should not actually have any physical contact like pushing. I think the lead runner would have to change course b/c a zombie could catch him and steal his "life" flags. Basically if all his flags get stolen he cannot be considered a winner. So ya, that can't physically hinder him but they can disqualify him if he doesn't try to evade them properly.
