Do The Ting Tings count?

I usually just listen to the original 80's artists. Lots of good songs during that decade.

But more bad than good. That was my HS era and believe me, there was more bad 80s than good. Everybody Wang Chung?

But seriously, just listen to original 80 music. My personal favs were Duran Duran (actually played instruments and wrote music), Human League, Art of Noise, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk (actually 70s but flowed into the 80s), Erasure, Split Enz.......tons of great stuff.

You're right, but I've already heard all of that. I'm looking for new music with an 80s flavor.

Wow I'm surprised I've never heard of Grum before, that's the sort of stuff I usually love.

My favourite original 80s bands are probably Depeche Mode and Eurythmics

For more modern stuff I like
SymbolOne - Love Juice (Danger Remix)
Les Rythmes Digitales - (Hey You) What's That Sound?
Midnight Juggernauts - Into the Galaxy
Kavinsky - Dead Cruiser

Now we're getting somewhere! Danger is the shit, and Kavinsky bleeds 80s grooves. Love that whole Midnight Juggernauts album, too.

I support the idea of this thread and despite not enjoying 80s music I admire your goal of supporting current artists who fit your genre.

They pretty much sound like they just hopped out of the Delorean from 1985. Love em.

Dream Theater has a lot of 80's metal influences, but they were actually around back then.
