Like meat? Get ready to die sooner!

old news and complete BS, my great grandpa lived to be like 96 and he had a big ass steak just about every day of his adult life.

so, your anecdote > their data?

Still, I'd like to see their data adjusted for weight and some index of fitness/exercise.

My old physics teacher said to us when one of my other fellow classmated commented about his eating lifestyle, "cutting out good tasting food entirely is not living, it is just surviving."

Wise old man he was

This.

Red meat is fantastic for active individuals. Sure, there is saturated fat (with cattle fed worthless grain feeds, that is), but that is energy consumed and lipids utilized for individuals who maintain a fit lifestyle (necessary for ideal human health - not cardio/exercising every day, but at least no sedentary).

A lot of terrific foods for the ideal human are terrible for sedentary people, especially over the years with excess consumption.

It doesn't matter either way. The only thing bad about dying is worrying about. There aren't a bunch of dead people sitting around wishing they didn't smoke or eat cheeseburgers. Once your dead, that's it. It's neither good, nor bad. Enjoy your life, and die when you die. It ain't nothin' but a thing ;^)

Those years that red meat removes are at the end of your life, which are the worst years anyway. Those years would probably be spent in a nursing home, devoid of stimulus, my daily routine consisting of shitting my pants and staring at the wall, clueless as to where i am and what i'm doing. If eating red meat saves us from that pain, then eat, warriors, eat.

Meh. I don't eat meat.. and my whole "caste" does not either, and I cannot say for sure we are healthy than average Americans.

Of course, what all the "Everything's bad for you and will make you die sooner" people fail to realize is that the part of your life you cut off isn't the fun part, it's the part where you're either senile, demented, or wearing diapers.

Given that versus enjoying red meat, I'll take a year or two off my diaper wearing years for enjoying life today.

So it's better for society that people eat more red meat since the ancient old people use up a ton of resources in medical and social security benefits.

Save America from bankruptcy! Eat a steak.

I want to make to about 80 if I can do that with my mental faculties intact. I think I'll do that regardless of red meat consumption.

Article did not say eating red meat was bad for you.

Its saying don't eat it with every meal.

Considering that the average American eats too much meat overall and not enough fruits and vegetables, their findings are not surprising. But its not just the quantity of red meat - its also the quality of it. I bet consuming the equivalent amount of red meat from organic grass fed pasture raised cattle isn't nearly as bad as the pesticide exposed corn fed boxed in cattle.

You are what you eat what they ate.
