No, but I wouldn't get upset if NFL let him back. He didn't go unpunished, and he will always have to be in the public eye as the NFL player who was cruel to dogs.

There are folks who killed people who served WAY less time than Vick and are still playing (and cashing huge checks) in the NFL.

yeah i dont have a problem with him going back, but id more like be surprised if someone wanted to touch him. his reputation and record wont disappear for a looooooong time

Leonard Little killed a woman while driving drunk in 1998. 90 days in jail, 4 years of probabtion, 1000 hours of community service. He was arrested again for drunken driving in 2004, charged with a felony, yet was only convicted of a speeding charge.

Ray Lewis was indicted for murder and aggravated assault following a Super Bowl party on 1/31/2000. Of course, he was given a plea bargain and was sentenced to 1 year of probation. Not even suspended by the NFL.

Donte Stallworth is currently suspended by the NFL, but he'll play again real soon.

I'm not a fan of Vick in any way, shape or form. However, he's paid an infinitely higher price for his crimes against dogs than the three fucks above did COMBINED, and those 3 killed people. Makes no sense, but that's our legal system, and that's the crazy skewed value we put on our entertainers.

Also, on top of the 23 months Vick spent in prison, he lost the rest of his then-current NFL contract (roughly $90 million) and his endorsements (who knows how much). He'll have the standard fines to pay as well.

Again, Vick has paid for not only his crimes, but for the crimes of his peers as well.

No they shouldn't. He lost 23 months of his life and over $100 million. That's more than enough.

His community service will require him to speak on behalf of PETA and various animal organizations I'm sure, which is fine. He also has some debt he needs to take care of, so future wages should be garnished for that. But he shouldn't have to pay any more $$ towards animals. He's paid enough. More than enough.

I love animals and I don't like Vick, by the way. I just thinks it's incredible how people pile on this guy. It's something that was brought up on a sports talk show recently, how we, as fans and as a society, LOVE our entertainers (to an unhealthy degree). Yet when something like this happens, we LOVE to pile it on and make sure they get shit on 100x more than regular folks.

hmm good point. i voted No he shouldnt be allowed back in.

but he did his time in jail. he paid his dues. And yes others have done far worse and are in the NFL.

so yeah let him back in. IF any team picks him up.

I still think they made way to big a deal of this, who cares if he killed a few dogs.

That said, even if they do let him back in he's not going to be very good. Back in 2006 he was a below average quarterback at best and a few years of sitting in prison can only have made him worse.
