Ligth Scribe Drive's

Can anyone confirm if Light Scribe Drive's wpork with Windows Vista, I never had one and the light scribe seems to be a nice touch for certain needs.
But dont want to get it if Vista wont support it.
I checked Samsungs web site looking to see if it suported windows vista but only listed XP.

Due note you need special light scribe cd's to work with a light scribe dvd writter.

My new HP PC came with Vista and LightScribe installed. I bought some Memorex LightScribe DVD+Rs, the only brand available locally. Works fine. Not overly thrilled about using it though but for DVDs I don't want to attach labels and permanent markers don't look pretty. Takes long time for the laser to etch the surface, especially if you have a complicated design.

Ok thanks I herd that it takes a long time but having a label that you and anyone else can read easy is a plus, so unless I was in a hurry it will be a good thing. just dont want to build a rig and find out that once i get Vista it wont be supported.

Your probably better off buying a printer that prints to printable CDs and DVDs. Faster, and, IMO, will cost less overall. LS media is more costly than regular media. My 2 pennies.

I've read that it's not a good idea to attach printed labels to DVDs, but CD-Rs are of course fine.
But what the heck do I know. LOL

I think you should stay away from the LS media if you ever use a disc drive that is slot loading... the changer in my car strips off the LS labels
