the disk is originally light red (the color of the letters)
That's the first multi-colored disc I've seen. They're a little more expensive, but now I gotta get some. This place is gettin' as bad as Hot Deals. :)

yep. I've still been riding out an old pioneer 106s ide burner and looking to replace. I will definately be looking at the LS drives more now. My handwriting sucks so my sharpie labels arent too pretty

Can you delete the lightscribe image later on if you use dvd-rw or dvd+rw dvds a lot where data can change on the dvds ?

ive been out of the lightscribe loop forever.

so i take it these things are double-sided now so they dont need room at the end of a disc to make letters?

ive always been tried-and-true with Printable CD and DVD-R's - http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant....Product_Code=1739-100&Category_Code=GP
the result can look just as good as pressed cd's, and you get full color labels in 10sec. (15min sucks!) the only drawback to inkjet printables is they get wet, they get smudged. its just a picture though, and my cd's never get wet.

It's done in the DVD burner. You don't have to line it up...the drive reads a barcode like image on the middle of lightscibe discs to find the start point

You cannot delete a lightscribe label, the laser on the writer burns the image onto the special disk.

You burn the data on one side, take the disk out, flip it over, burn the label on the other. no special printer needed, just the lightscribe dvd writer.
