Castle Rock - Jason Bunch was listening to Metallica on his iPod while mowing the lawn outside his Castle Rock home Sunday afternoon when lightning hit him.

The last thing the 17-year-old remembers was that a storm was coming from the north and he had only about 15 minutes before he should go inside.

Next thing he knew, he was in his bed, bleeding from his ears and vomiting. He was barefoot and had taken off his burned T-shirt and gym shorts. He doesn't know how he got back in the house. http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_4016385#

"Bunch and his mother believe the iPod acted as an antenna, drawing the lightning to him. There were tall pine trees nearby that didn't get hit."

Oh geez, I feel a frivolous lawsuit coming.

I hope he fully heals!

I wonder if he was listening to Ride the Lightning.

😀

Seriously though, he is very lucky to be alive. I love to watch lightning....but from indoors. I don't mess around when it comes to lightning..

that's why whenever it's lightening I always keep my keys/anything metal in my pocket or whatever so I don't attract lightening.

rumor has it the kid put mp3's of metallica that he downloaded from the napster era onto his ipod. lars prayed to cliff burton day and night to pull some strings, and it looks like his prayers finally got answered.

Hopefully he doesn't have some form of Labyrinthitis because that's what his symptoms sound like. Darn Ipod making him lose his balance.
