So, while I was ranting about a minivan parked too close to my car, thudnerstorm got stronger and stronger. Lighting strikes were going off more frequently. And then...

I hear this 'click' like a really loud relay went off, and an electric arch appeared below the ceiling for a little while and went away. Right after that a HUGE lightning appeared outside the window, and then - KABOOM - a monsterous thunder. All within miniseconds.

Pretty much everyone in the office saw that.
Surprisingly, none of our computers are fried. Not sure about the neighbors.

Edit: lightning hit a tree 60 feet away from the building and broke it in half

Pics:

Half the tree still standing
Half on the ground
Foliage and charred wood

Haha, wow, my dad saw something similar in a sense, he got struck by lightning! No, I'm not kidding and yes, he's perfectly fine, so is his friend who also got struck.

I made a thread a few months ago incase you guys want to call shens or something :p

I was the closest one to the lightning and the arch (I sit close to the window). And I'm ok :) So I assume everyone else is. All the car alarms in the parking lot went off.

You left a note on that Van, didn't you.

Turns out that the minivan is owned by Jesus, and you pissed him off. So he called up his dad.

Watch out.

Whoa! Lightning struck the tree that is 60 feet away from the building and blew it in half. Half the tree is down on the ground, charred wood scattered all over the parking lot. Coworker took pics. Should be up on the web in 20 mins.

Lightning scares the heck out of me. The only time it's good is when it causes the occasional power outage at work and we don't have to go in or get to go home early.

Glad to hear that everyone's okay.
