A LINK TO THE COUPON CODE: Coupon

Got this from another site..

Craftsman Outdoor Lighting sells "brass handmade in the USA light fixtures." Strangely enough they sell some indoor ones too. They have some really nice designs that I haven't seen before. I called and they said the Free Shipping will be ending in a few days, so use the coupon now while you can get a double bonus! (note: This coupon code is published with their permission)

Thanks for the hot deal, but we're not allowed to post coupon codes on this forum. You may want to edit out your code before the mod deletes/locks it.

The original post stated that the code was published with the company's permission. Why delete it?

Thanks, Mod, but I have seen other posts where you allowed codes when the person posting has told you that the company was okay with it or when the code appeared in major newspapers. Just trying to understand the difference.

Codes are not allowed in the same fashion that grade-school kids are not allowed to take aspirin unsupervised in public schools. One "good" white pill looks like another "bad" white pill so to avoid ANY confusion, all white pills (and coupons) are banned. Believe it or not, this policy will PRESERVE the typical coupon code's useful life, and will help avoid unwanted scrutiny from the coupon issuers. It's a good and simple policy.

Twisted -

Please explain to me how it preserves the coupon's useful life? Useful to whom? If we can't see the coupon, how can we ever use it to give it "life?" With your way of thinking, only the person who knows the coupon code (who doesn't post it) gets longer life out of it.

And by the way, I always hated teachers who punished the whole class due to one kid doing something wrong. That's just laziness or lack of creativity on the teacher's part.

Victor, please consider your Private Message feature in your profile.

Coupons are easy to find elsewhere and easy to link on Anandtech. You just can't post the actual codes here because they'd be overused even more. Obviously AT got enough complaints from vendors to ban codes altogether. So link or PM as necessary and these deals may last a little longer for people that actually want to use the goods, not just for people looking for stuff to resell on Eb@y.

Or you could just ignore me and your codes would be deleted by moderation anyway.
