I have a dell inspiron 3700 and with cd/disk/battery loaded, it's like a brick.
I'm gonna give that to some kid and buy a really light notebook.. Looking for..

Notebook, full size screen if possible or large.
128MB+ Memory
P3 level processor
6.4+ HD

Drive & CDROM/DVD could be external
longer life battery
dock station available..

looking to spend around 2500-3250..
 
I've been looking around for one and it seems sony makes some pretty small laptops. 12 inch screens, forgot model numbers, but battery life isn't that hot.. prices are in your range though.
 
Looks nice, we were gonna get that but didnt, anything lighter with more juice... i'll loook some more
 
nope😛 there are more powerful versions of the same notebook, and you can buy a 2nd battery i think. As for lighter, yes but that brings you down to a 10 inch screen, its too much of a trade off at that level.
 
The Dell Latitude LS (their slim line) is a REALLY nice laptop. I've used it first hand. I think right now the fastest you can get is a P3 500 and the screen is 12inch, but it's very very sleek.
 
I would buy another dell, that ls looks pretty good, btw do you have one ? They have a 8x dvd but the spec says 6x dvd in external, is the 8x generally external ? And is the battery added into the 3.5lb package ? Thanks
