I'm interested in doing one of those lighting mods on my cd-rw drive. Is there any chance that it could cause trouble reading or writing to the cd? does color matter?, because I wanted to do a blue one

Do you mean you want to change the color of the led in the drive or what?

Amdskip, you on a mini-posting spree here? (listed you as the most recent responer to the last 4 threads:D)....aah never mind..:)

If it's just the Busy LED, that shouldn't be a problem. I think that it was Plextor that changed the color of their CD-RW drives' trays to black - they said it helped cut down on random light rays that might interfere with writing. I haven't heard anything one way or another to indicate that it really helps though.

no I mean that mod where you put a LazerLED or something like that in the drive so when the tray opens, it glows inside
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just search a little, lots of people have done it, but I think only with a red light
