light bulb question

There is currently only one light fixture in my bedroom, and it is in the far corner of the room. Right now I have 2 75 watt bulbs in there and it doesn't provide nearly enough light for the room. This is especially a problem when I am reading, which is quite often. I have a desk lamp already but I still would like something that could cover the whole room better if possible. I am wondering what would be the best option for replacing these lights. Here is what I can come up with:

1. Just use a higher wattage (100W or so) incandescent bulb

This would obviously provide more light, but would the extra light be proportionate to the extra energy consumed? What advantage does this option have over the other 2?

2. CFL Bulb

These use much less energy for the same amount of light when compared to an incandescent bulb, but I read the emitted light is not as good for reading in. That could be a problem.

3. Halogen Bulb (GE Edison, for example)

I read these give off a lot more light for the same amount of energy compared to an incandescent, have a longer life, but also radiate a lot more heat.

What would my best option be?

the light is on! ::gasp::

edit: how about getting another light and putting it on the opposite side of the room?

Whatever you do, use fluorescents.

Just get whatever lumen output you need.

They last longer and use less watts per lumen.

FTW!

CFL's are getting much better then they used to be... Better spectrum of lighting.
That gets my recommendation.
