Lately it's been Bud Select. It's fairly smooth for a light/cheap beer. But I don't descriminate. Bud Light. Miller light. MGD Light. High Life light. Even Busch light 🙂

When it's hot out, and you are working in the garage or in the yard, you don't want a stout or a dark ale. I just want something that is easy to drink. Light beers fit the bill.

Besides, they make you appreciate the higher quality brews when you do drink them.

Well said!

...but how do you feel about Heineken Light? 😛

Heh. I think you know my view of Heineken....everytime I've tried it, it tasted like it sat in the trunk of a car in 100+ degree heat for weeks on end. Just skunked beyond belief. But I think that's just how it is.

Maybe the light version is slightly less skunky 😀

Heinie tastes like it was poured out of someones heiney. But I kind of feel that way about most of the lager styles of beer(including the "light" brands).

I'm an ale drinker through and through.

Wait a second. Has no one said Old Milwaukee Light, yet?

Pretty sure "beast light" is what they meant.

Mark a natty lite or a busch light for me. . .but I agree w/ the OP, I like quality beer, but all bud lights, coors lights etc taste like piss. Hand me a Guiness or a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout anytime.

Light beer isn't very good... in my area people seem to really enjoy Sleemans Clear (low carb beer)... I would prefer another beer with more flavor.

Not sure if I've had Old Mil Light before. Regular Old Mil is good though. Haha, I remember buying a 24 pack of bottles for $10 quite often, back in school.

Samuel Adams Light, no contest. I buy it even though I really have no need/desire to drink light beer, it's just that good.

QFT. I don't see how some of you guys willingly drink Bud Lite and those other domestic bottles of watered down hops. Sam Adams Light has more flavor than ANY of them.

Funny thing...I used to hate Miller Lite but I've grown quite accustomed to it. I much much prefer the imports though. Grolsch, Peroni, Spaten, Warsteiner, Stella Artois, St. Pauli Girl, Negra Modelo (w/lime wedge!), Tiger, Tsingtao, Kirin Ichiban...they all put any domestics to shame IMO.

Oh, and someone from CA needs to send me some Arrogant Bastard ale. 🙂

I am in Missouri and have one bottle. I might drink it this weekend.

Guinness is my favorite light beer.

low alcohol content
low calories
low carbs

Guinness is a light beer. Don't let the color fool you.

I guess the loaf of bread in the can sucks up all the beer so you can't drink it.

There are many styles of beer however, "light/lite" isn't one of them. I brew a Heather ale 7.6% abv I give to new friends who like "lighter" beers. 🙂

Drink specials mean I can usually get those domestics for a dollar here in Texas
