Lifting in Las Vegas

last week i was in a powerlifting competition,
deadlifting 545 lbs. for 2nd place in my division.

Damn man you look like you're up there in the years too (no offense). Good job!! I did 415 a few years back in my late 30's. Later, I ended up pinching a nerve in my upper back doing wide grip chins. It cut off the nerve to my left pec as well and it took me about 9 months to recover. Lost a lot of mass due to atrophy and kind of let the weight lifting go after that.

Sorry dude. An old man like televangelist Pat Robertson who is 76 years old can beat you. He can leg press 2,000 pounds. he probably can dead lift 1,000.

A leg press is NOTHING. It just sounds a lot more impressive to people not in the know. It would depend how far he had his legs bent to start with.

But at least with a deadlif it starts from the floor and you have to pick it up and finish with arms and legs locked. You can't cheat that...

Probably about 4, tops 5 people here could DL as much as the OP.

Yeah I don't think anyone who can leg press X lbs. can confidently claim to deadlift Y lbs. without actually having done it.

In a leg press, your body is locked into a fixed range of motion by the machine. A deadlift is a very technical full body movement.

Nice job OP. I was at 6x435 a couple weeks ago until I pulled a muscle in my back. Since then I've been forced to back off somewhat.
