Been having a pain in my side for about a week now so I went to the Dr. to have it checked out. X-rays come back with what appears to be several stress fractures in serveral vertebra. Going for an MRI sometime next week but was told to sideline all heavy lifting until after I meet with a spine surgeon.

Tough break, hang in there. Even a break of several months or a year doesn't mean you have to be out of the game for good.

How did you get these fractures?

No idea. I had done some yard work 4 days prior to the pain setting in. I have been racking my brain to see if I had hit anything at work the day before but cant think of anything. MRI set for June 24th.

I feel for you. Been suffering from a rather bad bout of sciatica the past few weeks. Will be going to the doc myself soon.

MRI showed good curve of spine. Only slight compression on T4-T5 and T6-T7 discs but nothing to be alarmed over. Doesnt explain pain in ribs but that has almost gone away. Going to head back to the gym in the beginning of August. My local doctor wants me to take my MRI to my spine surgeon but havent called about that yet.

For disc compression, try an inversion table. Does wonders for my lower/middle back. I have severely degenerated discs from years of mountain bike riding & skateboarding(accidents).

Do you know the root cause for the compression? Did you ride horses or something all the time?

That's not a good sign you don't know what caused it as that means you could aggravate the condition again or worsen it. If this started after a particular workout, I'd examine what you did that day.
