Plex Pass
any recommendations instead of doing thiS?
promo code 8PLEXPASS8
also see a ebay seller with the lifetime for 60$ with -1 rating hehe.
Ok if you buy two years then lifetime is the same price. Not sure what your on aboutLength of life in lifetime is the usual issue. Annual or even multiyear means they have to do something to keep you. OTOH Quicken which goes up and gets worse.
Is Oregon your state? If not then why use a fake?went ahead and bought one, i put oregon zipcode (not sure why it asked me maybe to charge tax?)![]()
Cali charges tax online fir everything... used to save lot buying on eBay but even they charge tax on everything!!! Oregon doesn't do sales tax. Just saved myself 8 dollars! BwahhhaIs Oregon your state? If not then why use a fake?
Grr these services are so irritating about showing what content you get. Looked around on their website and nothing is clear as to what you are buying or what the "lifetime" is. Good for one device, one household, what is life? My life? Life of the device?
I have a lifetime Emby subscription which I've been happy with, but I realize that Plex has a lot more integrations. Anyone have experience with both and able to tell me how they compare?
Thanks.
Plex should be used with caution, even in the paid version there are many restrictions if the rate is minimal.
Without knowing much about Plex, I can say their website is amazingly frustrating. Costs are concealed (sort of), minimal explanation of what package gives what.
As far as I can tell Plex is mostly used for streaming content you already own to a laptop or tablet or phone.
I was sort of interested in the live streaming TV but again the complete channel list is no where to be found and the partial listed channel list which I assume are their strongest offers were pretty weak in my opinion.
If I am completely off base someone please correct me.
I gave up reading about Plex because there doesn’t appear to be any concise simple answers as to what it does and what it costs.
Plex does not allow streaming off the web unless you pay for third party subscriptions.
Plex is mostly for your own library content (content stored on a NAS), same with Emby.
Plex is not Kodi. Kodi i believe is more on the Gray topic line of legality, so i wont mention anymore of it.
Plex does not allow TV Streaming over web. You need a HDTV Antenna like a HDHomerun to allow TV to be streamed on the Plex Web.
HDTV wont stream on Android devices... i don't know why they don't allow this.
Plex Unlimited allows you to install almost a unlimited amount of clients across all platforms without having to pay for each device.
You do not need to have a plex pass to have a Plex server and stream off a web client (chrome).
Plex is very hardware dependant. Its also core speed > core count, as its transcoder can only utilize a set number of scores when tanscoding. Also if your library is very 4K content rich, i highly recommend you getting a Quadro P2000 or P2200 and run Plex server off a windows or linux box.
Plex will work with most NAS software, which is why a lot of people use it.
If your seriously interested in using plex or emby i highly recommend you get a lifetime pass.

You still need to buy a HD Homerun device tho and have it connected to the network.

You do not even need to go though plex for this.

Well, that's the thing about Plex. It's one of a handful of home media servers that are acceptable for less tech-savvy (or sadomaso) users.I tried Plex briefly, refused to pay for their phone app, and got started with Jellyfin instead. It's a little rough, but it's improving. I even helped improve one bug!
Wow. "America last" philosophy. And I assumed you vote for the blonde.Cali charges tax online fir everything... used to save lot buying on eBay but even they charge tax on everything!!! Oregon doesn't do sales tax. Just saved myself 8 dollars! Bwahhha
Just connect this to my network and add an antenna plus Roku app? That’s it?
