Definitely shopping for porn. I prefer more “exotic” pornography. I don’t miss the stares from the clerk when I would get a VHS of midgets going at it.
I never cared what tapes anyone was renting/buying when I was clerkin' it at the adult store.

Getting cheat codes to videogames was tough. You either had to rely on your older brother or your friends from school, who would make shit up like a Mortal Kombat nude code.
I would go to the grocery stores and book stores to find the gamer magazine and cheat code books. Then either write down the codes, or I would wait until I had enough money to buy the magazine.

Haha! I used to go to a video store that had a “back room”
One time when I left I saw a mid level manager entering the place and though, I’m glad I found what I needed and left when I did (wife likes dirtier stuff than I do).
Few days went by and the manager Sandy has a lunch chat with me. Basically said what happens at the video store stays at the video store. Her Husband makes her tag along for movie shopping. I said my girlfriend (at the time) leaves it all up to me, I totally understand & agree.

Didn't everybody drive around with the big Rand McNally road atlas?
1997 edition. Couldn't convince myself to toss it. 4 years older than my kid.

I do ususally look a map before going some place new. Luddites unite.

We still have to give ADC map quadrants on plans for some of our work. I'd like to find the corrupt pieces of shit that made that a regulation, and beat them to death with a pick handle. GPS coordinates are universal, and if by some chance you haven't made it into the 21st century, you can go to walmart, buy a $40(about what an ADC map costs) android, and navigate anywhere in the world.

I had to look ADC maps up. They're an eastern thing. $250 per county? That sucks dog's balls.

That's more than I remembered, but yea, they're expensive. They're also almost unobtanium. You used to be able to find them in a 7-11, but the rest of the world's moved on, so you pretty much have to mailorder. No idea where to buy one in person. Oh, and they changed their coordinate system over the years, so if you find an old atlas, you have to perform a conversion to get to the current iteration. All proprietary of course :^S

Ridiculous. They shouldn't even exist as a business. Their "services" are as valuable as a newly made wax cylinder audio recording.

Of course we thought that rampant stupidity was due to the lack of access to information.

that wasn't it...

Finding music - not to mention books! - was much harder before the internet. It also required finding good audio tapes to record :p

Listening to the Red Sox game on the radio (WTIC) while visiting with Grandmother and Grandfather on the driveway sitting in folding chairs.

1960's Gramps stayed in his bedroom, avoiding nasty ankle biters, listening to baseball games. I remember the "sounds." How times have changed.

Definitely shopping for porn.

Ah good Ole Sears catalog
Looking for obscure bits of music - had to check out second-hand record/cd shops (sometimes in foriegn countries while on holiday).

Oh man music. Yeah if you like music other than what the radio plays the internet is a godsend. So many options and ways to explore at your fingertips almost anywhere in the world. And if you hear something you like you can just pull out your phone and an app can tell you the song and artist in about 5 seconds 99% of the time

I remember when you had to actually go to the doctor if you thought you had something wrong with you. Now, you can just go online and get an instant diagnosis.

With the help of the internet, I've learned to live with the fact that I'm pregnant and have brain-eating amoeba with chronic tuberculosis.

And dementia, I knew you would forget that one.
