Well, according to "The X-Files", life came to earth from a meteorite off Mars. ;)

Seriously though, interesting article.

Recent test have shown that life could do just that and survive the trip.
More things come to Earth from Mars than the other way, because of earth's stronger gravitational pull.
This is why I think if we do find life on Mars, it will not tell us anything of the odds of finding a technologically advanced society elsewhere.

Yeah, I agree with you there. Even if we discover life on Mars or find that our origin was from Mars it's not going to say much about life outside our own solar system. It would still be a significant discovery though.

I hope they send probes to Jupiter's moon Europa soon too. That's supposed to have a watery ocean under its icy crust.
