I gave it a shot. It's nowhere near as good as the British one. John Simm (original Sam Tyler) was just amazing. This version definately payed homage to the original more than it ripped it off (felt this way at least). Some of the scenes just didn't work without the British accents and better actors. I'll stick to it for a while. Recently gave up on Pushing Daisies, so may as well add a new show to my lineup.

What caused you to give up Pushing Daisies?

I don't think I'll be trying very hard to keep up with Life on Mars. Though I may on principle since my wife likes me to watch Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy with her. :(

I gave up on Pushing Daisies cause the novelty is wearing off. Everything's funky, weird colours, weird stories. It's difficult to connect with any of the characters or believe any of it. At first, it was new and like nothing out there, but one year later, maybe I changed?

In addition, there are shows I really want to watch during the two time slots that 'Pushing' is on. On Tuesday (my town shows it a day early on national channels), I'm watching NCIS (just got into it). On Wednesday, Bones is on.

I already had 2 shows set to record when this came on and I didn't want to stay up and watch it; should I d/l the torrent to give it a try or will this one be dead by season end?

not sure why they stuck with jason mara for both pilots, dudes wooden and his accent doesn't sound quite right.

bad casting all around. the newer pilot is improved, but still inferior to the original.
