i was just listening to the radio.
a shady character called up who referenced the Art Bell show.
now, i dont believe that this man truly has the "demasked" pictures from the NASA site but i would be interested in any mars-life cover-up conspiracy theories that you guys have come across.
especially if you have links to these pictures this guy is suggesting he has.

anyone seen these?

(the other threads about life on mars all appeared to be legit)

Art Bell is a master at what he does, but I doubt he believes anything that he says.

and I'm sure some folks believe the Challenger explosion was faked.

that's just how it goes. No matter what happens, you won't get 100% of the population to believe it.

So implausible -- NASA would kill your dog and cat for the chance to announce they've discovered life on Mars, and (despite their fundamentalist ties) so would the Bush administration.

A success like that would be a great image boost to the "leader of the free world," and a nice distraction from the economy, emerging police state, Haliburton, prisoner abuse, armed forces deaths, and possible collapse of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Exactly. The discovery of extraterrestrial life would be an incredibly fortuitous(sp?) event. The government budget would be huge; every DoD bill would pass. Why? Because the aliens might be hostile! Nobody would care about anything else for a good long while, and the administration -- any administration, not just the current one -- would be free to pursue whatever it wanted to with minimal public attention.

Remember Chandra Levy? Remember how suddenly nobody could recall who she was when 9/11 happened? Same thing.

still too early. give it 20-30 years and people who weren't alive when it happened will be coming up with conspiracy theories.

20-30 years? Conspiracy theorists have been going nuts over it since day one. True, they all (except the real whackjob ones) agree it happened, but the variations on why are astounding. The Al Qaeda hijackers were actually Black-Ops U.S. Government. The Bush administration and Al Qaeda agreed to pretend to fight against each other to rally power and money for each. The Illuminati orchestrated it. The attacks on the World Trade Center were simply to distract attention from the sector taken out at the Pentagon, where certain "dangerous individuals" had been placed in order to eliminate them without a trace. And so on and so forth.

Yeah dude, conspiracy theories are already there.

Life on mars, yea right.

NASA and the Government is just using the 'possibility' of life on other planets to justify a hugely expsensive program that provides exactly zero concrete benefits. The only reason for the existance of the space program is to boost national pride of this morally bankrupt nation of fat tubs.

I give there the chances of there being life on Mars about the same as the US actually landing on the moon.

She worked in the office with then-Senator Gary Condit (D-California). (I am C-SPAN :D) She disappeared one day and in the investigation it was discovered that she was having an affair with Condit prior to her disappearance. Immediately the rumor mills fired up. "Condit offed her to cover up the affair." "He's a murderous Slick Willy." "Who else has Murderer Condit ordered silenced to save his skin?" Rush Limbaugh had a field day with it. I think Hannity was starting out when this happened, and his coverage of the events gave him a huge ratings boost. But like I said, when 9/11 happened suddenly nobody cared. (Though I think the public was getting sick of it anyway)

Anyway, about a year after her disappearance she was found in Central Park (I think) in a remote area, apparantly strangled. They don't really know who killed her, but since there had been a string of female joggers found dead in Central Park around the time of her disappearance (Levy was a jogger) the unidentified serial killer became the prime suspect. They haven't made any progress on the case though, and they likely never will. If it was the serial killer he likely decided to stop after he (or it could be a she) realized his latest victim wasn't a nobody.

Too much information? :p

not me, but she was the intern that Rep. Gary Condit (D-Calif) had an affair with and then murdered to try to cover it up.

Uh, I mean "allegedly might be under some suspicion of being involved in the death of."

believe it, there are folks who don't actually believe happened, happened. May not be in this country, but there are folks who think it didn't happen the way we say it happened or don't believe it happened at all.

I hope you're being sarcastic. There has never been one shred of evidence against Condit, yet people eat this sh*t up when the media talking heads repeat the implication enough times.

And it was Rock Creek Park. Central Park is in NYC.
