Wasn't sure the exact condition... if it's the non-aggressive type of tumor then mostly she'll have to take hormone pill for 5 yrs, and during the time it's recommended not to have kid. she felt very sorry because i love to have kids... all i can do is comfort her.

I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis. It sounds like they got it very early though which is great news, all things considered. Hopefully the staging will be very low, possibly even 0 in situ which is the best case scenario. Most cases with early staging (0-I) that require very minor surgery the woman is otherwise healthy and in great shape with a long future ahead of her.

This may sound weird but if she was going to be told she has cancer, what she has and how she has it is definitley one of the better situations to be in. Best wishes!

My mother was extremely lucky to have a situation like the one you described above. She was late in schedule her mammogram and had it done 2 months later than usual. The doc found a very tiny mass, and, upon biopsy, determined it was a cancerous lump. Fortunately it was stage 0 and removed via surgery along with some lymphnodes just to be sure. If she had gone for her test when she was supposed to the doctors probably wouldn't have found it. You don't know how lucky I feel that my mom caught it early.

Just a question, if the mammogram and ultrasound was normal, what exactly did they biopsy?

I don't know a whole lot about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. They usually do a needle biopsy of suspicious tissue/lumps which may not easily distinguishable from a benign tissue until biopsy. The MRI/CT is not for refuting the biopsy, it's for understanding the location and spread. This then allows you to stage the disease. At that point treatment options are suggested such as small surgery such as lumpectomy, and/or multimodal treatments using chemo, radiation, surgery. Unless it's obvious on a CT/PET, which hopefully it is not, I think lymph node sampling will then help determine a finer stage and need for post surgical therapy using radiation and chemo.
