Life change coming ...

It has been coming for a while, I've sensed it, and been making discrete inquiries of the wife. She is almost 3 weeks late, though the pregnancy test she took this morning came up negative. I'm going to pick up another on my way home today to try to confirm. 🙂

We've been trying for a while, but now that it is actually happening, I'm a bit lost. All of a sudden I'm thinking, holy sh!t, we're still trying to get our lives in order, and now there is going to be another one to look after. I'm excited, scared ... but most of all, I think by the time it happens, I really will be ready.

I'm actually hoping this will help me transfer some of my working hours to my home-based office, as I'm getting sick of my commute, especially with the snow and freezing rain we've got going on right now.

Not bad for a 2000th post 😉

that is wonderful. I hope things work out for you. Best wishes and luck.

congrats.

and as to the concerns about being ready, i don't think anyone is ever really ready to have kids. those that insist on getting ready never have kids. it's one of those things you kind of have to jump in head first.

at 3 weeks late that pregnancy test should've been positive if she was.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about that, but after some research it isn't that unusual. One of my wife's friends didn't turn a + until 6 weeks, so we've got a bit of time before that. Regardless, she's going to try again tonight, and if it is another negative, we'll get her in to see her doctor to confirm 🙂

Congrats!

As a fairly new parent myself (went through this 4 1/2 years ago) I know how you feel. It is a new stage of life - can be scary and overwhelming at first and takes some getting used to. However, it is one of the greatest joys my wife and I have ever known! Now that my son is 4 1/2, everytime we play together and I look into these little eyes I wonder how we ever got along without the little ah heck 😉

Great pic 🙂 As I mentioned in a PM to someone else, I know the lifestyle will take some getting used to, especially in the summertime when I golf all the time. I'm going to have to start designing my baby stroller/golf cart mechanism stat! 😀

he is so adorable Scoob 🙂

i'm loving the baby stroller / golf cart idea... 🙂

can't get 'em on the course too early can you? a 2-hour stroll is a 2-hour stroll... plus the kid would get to see Dad's great shotmaking ability 😉

yes, what mosh said.

if there's any doubt, go to the doctor and get a blood test. i know of individuals missing an entire cycle but not actually being pregnant.

That would suck. Hard.

She has never been more than a couple of days late before (like clockwork), but we'll look into the blood test soon if there is another (-).
