Has anyone woken up one day and realised that their life was just a series of routines and repetitions?

I'm bored out of my skull and need a change - I know several members post this complaint every day, but I want to try and get myself ready for the new year and would serioulsy like some advise as to 'spice' up my life'

I just moaning about standard 9-5, average pay, average living, average house, I HATE BEING AVERAGE!!!

A little background:

I've been stuck in the same job for a couple of years (2nd line Tech support & Network infrastructure analysis) unable to move on 'cos I'm still climbing the learning curve (the company has been good me - no reason to complain there, paid for my CompTia's, MCDST and I've had my training for my MCSE signed off on condition I sign a waiver to stay on for another year).

I bought a Super-sport bike hoping this would excite me; I got caught a couple of times going faster than I should've - so now I'm carefull, and now it's boring. Daily comute consists of 30MPH on all roads. So I bought a car - even more boring

I'm involved with an east european girl - nice long term relationship, nice intimate moments - she lives with me, but we only see each other about two hours every day (MAX) due to different hours of working - she works shits in a Health lesuire complex.

I haven't got enough money to go travelling and experiance new cultures.

With my spare time (on the weekends) I end up installing new wireless networks for friends and family friends - beginning to get a little p1ssed off with emails asking for support (which consists off running spybot, ad-ware and doing virus updates).

etc

etc

cliff notes:

Bored of life
Looking foward when my G/F gets back to get..cough....cough...you know :)
Just moaning about wanting a change and not pulling my finger out to do anything about it
Not having any money to be an adrenalin junkie - which I think I am

Start playing an MMORPG. Make the rut inescapable!

Edit: I typed this out before I saw the preceeding response :p

Beats me. I have average pay, am wondering _HOW_ I can afford a house without getting married. (literally) Work at a job that brings no satisfaction. And live in an area that Intel's laid off a bunch of thier engineering staff so the job market is saturated beyond belief so getting another one isn't happening. And everything I enjoy is being attacked by lobbists.

Edit:
For reference, a small house costs $230,000. That makes a $1600 mortgage payment. With the increase in gas prices that leaves me with $100 to maintain my car, maintain my house, get food, and pay the electricity and water bills. Anyone know how much kidneys and lungs go for these days? I figure I got two, when the other goes bad they might have advanced technology enough to work out a fix.

Sounds like you're bored with hte modern world you live in. Join a commune, start a business, quit your job, read, go mountain biking, climb a mountain, do something to break the routine, because it sounds really boring.

I hear you:

My sister is a Mortgage adviser. I sat down with her one day to go through my finances - at the end of it she just laughed and said: "ever think of going to your g/f's country and starting there"

She said that last night which got me thinking.

Everquest 2 or WoW should give you something to do.

I 'tried' playing DoaC got as far as the game would let me - got bored
I 'tried' playing everquest got p1ssed off with the skill trading system and lack of support

But thanks for the advice guys - keep it coming

Since graduating I decided to plan one short trip every year - by myself - to go do something crazy. I've done intense whitewater rafting, jumped out of a plane, and climbed a mountain. I don't know what I'm doing next year yet - possible running with the bulls.
