Life as a third year law student . . .

whatup atot. i finished outlining a chapter in antitrust law, so i figured i'd post some (low quality) pics of my room. my gf has my camera, so i don't have better quality pics, but i think it's good enough to see what's going on.

Pic 1

this one is of my desk. again, excuse the shitty quality. my laptop, which is the essential law student accessory, has Word open and my glorious outline showing (even though you can't really see it at all). on the left is my denon cd dj deck and a printer i hardly use (but does come in handy).

on the top shelf you'll see some of the xmas gifts im getting my gf, my external hdd (on the left), a cool statute (on the way left, from my gf) and then lots of books from classes.

edit: blacked out the gift parts b/c gf might see it. didn't want to risk anything. hahaha

Pic 2

this is to the left of my desk. i got those two speakers sophomore year of college when i first got into dj-ing. i just picked up the two turntables (technics) this summer, to replace my old stantons. i also got a brand new rane ttm-56 mixer (in between my turntables). in the way back, in between the speakers (below then), you can see a "box" that is my rane serato scratch (output from the turntables connect to this unit; the unit then connects to the mixer; my laptop is connected to this unit via usb cable). this box allows me to "stream" mp3s to my turntables (so i have vinyls of all my mp3s).

on top of the right mp3 are ALL four seasons of futurama! i just got em in the mail (hot deal from deepdiscount for BOGO).

on the way right you see the denon cd dj deck again, with a zune gen 1 on top (updated software though, which is pretty sweet).

Pic 3 and Pic 4

These are pics of my bed area and closet. nothing to really talk about here.

so, life isn't so bad as a law student, but it still sucks during exam time (which is why i'm still awake).

i'll answer any questions i can about law life and my room, hahaha, until i go to sleep.

Im currently a finance major and have had only one law class (general business law). I am thinking about getting my law degree but I want something that will help me in business. How quickly would it take to get through law school if I am working full time while going?

So... given that you're still a law student, how long before they teach you how to cover up evidence? 😛

not really sure how long the night program is. regular law school is 3 years; maybe part time is 4?

You'd have to find a place that offered a true part time law program which Id say about a third of schools do. A part time law program usually takes 4-5 years instead of 3.

A good school for a night part time program is the George Washington University. My friend is in it and is having a very good experience there.

Why is your room so clean? You obviously haven't been studying hard enough...

There should be open books and papers scattered everywhere. I should be unable to see any perpendicular surface that isn't covered by a layer of some recycled tree product. Shame on you.

I do not miss life as a law student.

But by 3L, you should be on cruise control. I think I went to Gratuitous Transfers 5 times all semester and received a B+ (no grade inflation - darn good grade).

BTW - the name of my outline for that class was: "Everything you didn't wanna know about giving shit away". My Professor saw it... and laughed.

If you havent lined up a job and gotten your Bar app in yet, then GET TO IT.

remember
1) define market
2) Show market power (HH index)
3 ...

can't remember much from my antitrust class 😉
