Perhaps I phrased it poorly. The Harry Potter series has had a much bigger impact on the partakers of pop culture than has the Matrix.

Blogs and forums, video games, release parties (for books AND movies), toys, apparel, etc. Much bigger impact from Harry Potter.

Hence Rowling is a multi-billionaire, and the Wachowski's... aren't. I almost called them brothers, but I guess they're not anymore.

I don't think you understand what 'culture' is.

Are you kidding? Even to this day, there are still people making references to Alice in Wonderland, taking the red or blue pill, 'how far does the rabbit hole goes', etc.

while i admit that i own all 6 books and have read them, there are better books out there. I'm not saying that the series is bad, on the contrary. but I've read better books. a quick example would be ender's game, ender's shadow and the books in that series by Orson Scott card. everybody like different kind of books and while i do want to read "deathly hollow", i won't die if i read it a month later and i definitely won't camp out for it.

Especially since the Half blood prince was a bit rushed. There was a lot of info in it, but I think Rawlings wanted to put more in (great books btw, Not a fan of the movies though)

I can't wait till i graduate in december so that i can read them all
