I would hope most are.

And that, in a nutshell, is what is wrong with this country. No senseamp, if you're able-bodied and unemployed, you should be doing whatever it takes to support yourself and your family, including working in farm fields. If they were "too good" for that kind of work, they'd have other employment.

Yes, we need unemployed engineers picking strawberries instead of keeping current and improving their skills. Great idea. You have it all figured out.

I'm talking about the habitually unemployed who have no marketable skills. Of course, you knew that. Keep trying though.

They should be learning marketable skills, not picking lettuce. It's going to cost more to treat their back problems and disease from breathing fertilizers and pesticides than they will earn from this work.

Democrat racists, LOL. "Americans shouldn't be picking crops, leave that to those brown people. They work for slave wages and keep my grocery bill down."

I love it when the true motivations of Democrats seep out.

See thread from last week about CCC. Did you agree with that approach?

Think of those poor illegals you're subjecting to this.....

Too bad the Democrats couldn't author a bill where this particular provision could pass muster with the USSC.

Same right wing ideologue SCOTUS that tells us money is speech but refuses to take speeches for salary 🙂
Could be too bad for you if you get into a car wreck in a wrong place. Couple hours to get to a hospital with burns, one may get an appreciation for Medicaid expansion 🙂

The alternative for them is starving with their families back home. I know you'd like very much to make that the alternative for Americans, but as of now they have other options.

Would this be the same "right-wing ideologue" SCOTUS that upheld most of ACA?

It won't affect me, but thanks for your concern. I'm really touched, probably nearly as touched by your concern as those poor migrant farm workers who simmer in fertilizers and chemicals all day so you can have cheap artichokes.

If by "other options" you mean the government supporting them, you're right.

Nice race-bait attempt. You prefer Americans work those fields for "slave wages?"

ACA was entirely constitutional, it should have been upheld entirely, and it would have been if it wasn't Obama's law at a right wing court. Conditions on federal funds have been held as Constitutional by every SCOTUS until this one.

What's the alternative? Low income Americans can't afford vegetables, and the current farm worker's families starve.
I am sure they are all touched by your concern too 🙂

The constitutionality of the law was debated then and is still debated. I disagree with the SCOTUS but their decision is the law of the land. IIRC, 7 of the 9 justices said that provision didn't pass muster. Were all 7 of those justices right-wingers?

5 of them were, IMO. But in any case, SCOTUS gave the GOP governors and legislatures enough rope to hang their constituents with, but it's not forcing them to do it.
