I want an MMO which breaks every MMO rule. Absolute FFA PvP, anywhere, any time, anyone. When you die, your shit drops to the ground and the enemy gets to take it. PvP gives you XP. You can grind mobs or you can grind players. No healers. You kill the thing you're fighting before it kills you. You don't heal the hits you take, you avoid taking them.

It might not end up being any fun, but sounds like a hell of an experiment.

You just described Darkfall MMO, cept for the healing bit (and area of effect spells work on friends and foes, including healing). But be warned, there is a good chance it'll be vaporware (they say they are working on it but have nothing to show). Age of Conan IIRC lets you have PvE and PvP skills, PvP involving killing other players, just don't quote me on that.

As for grinding, I loved EvE, the politics, the wars, the economy, the propaganda... But the money grind.... "shudder".... i am currently not playing any MMO and am waiting for one that i can enjoy 90% of the time i play it rather then work 80% of the time (i don't consider gate camping work in eve).

I want automated grinding. For example, mining should be done by a NPC that you hire or perhaps join a clan to get access to the resources needed to build infrastructure to increase production in order to provide your clan with all the raw materials it needs. When you have enough raw materials built up you spend 20 minutes with your clan mates building a pile of weapons which you sell for profit or use yourselves. The time waiting for resources to build up can be spent defending, attacking, pirating, screwing around having fun, improving mine, exploring, ect ect.

AoC is one of the next gen MMOs. It doesnt have elves. It has its own unique world thanks to Robert E. Howard. Games like that is the future although it has alot in common with the typical dwarf/elf/human MMO. EvE Online is another next gen although its not exactly new. Its steadily growing though. A space MMO. I think the developer said they were growing 80% customer base per year since launch which isnt bad when you look at percentages although its customer account base is around 350k last I heard. Its a difficult game though due to its steep learning curve. SWG had alot of promise but poorly executed IMO. Another Space MMO. I think its idea was ahead of its time. If they were to make it today it'd do better I'm thinking. A Babylon 5 MMO would be rather cool IMO. No elves but has some cool species/races and has humans too. Pirates of the Burning Sea is another new next gen MMO. To play a pirate/privateer/swashbuckler is a winning idea if there ever was one. Its up to the developers to think outside of the elf/dawrf box. If its good people will come and play.

I thought about making some witty remark, but you're just a idiot. It's as simple as that.

If you need explaining, you're just as stupid as i thought.

A grand theft auto MMORPG. You start out as an immigrant or natural born. Then you start working your way through as a thug/criminal life or a life of law enforcement/government. The thug/criminal class will be further divided into other classes. So as the law/government classes. Working 9-5 would be your profession. Or staying homeless and mugging people would be another profession. Grinding would be based on the amount of money/reputation you have. The more you have of those, the higher in society you are.

No need to get touchy. Guess some people get upset when things hit too close to home.

Relax a little! Besides I play eve-online, thats a good indication of my social life at the moment.

Why did I reply to such a obvious trool...

@invidia
I don't really see GTA working out as a MMO. Co-op yes, but on a grand scale you'd have to change the game into something like city of villeins/heroes.

i want to see a post-nuclear type setting mmorpg (and no, that shitty car game from NCSOFT doesn't count).

Something like Fallout or Mad Max online.

some sort of modern day mercenary mmo would be cool too.

I would love some kind of futuristic cyber-punk MMO, something along the lines of the Shadowrun pen and paper RPG.

I know they recently put out a Shadowrun FPS which is a HUGE dissapointment to me. I saw the box at best buy and though "hell ya, just what I've been waiting for" until I picked it up and saw that it was a FPS. :(
