If I'm going to go to a supermarket I want them to have all the supermarket crap that I want. I can then go to a proper butchers, fishmongers, and maybe greengrocers.

I really, really don't want to go to more than one supermarket. That defeats the purpose of having a supermarket in the first place!
There are still traditional supermarkets that cater to your traditional business, it's a business model that is not going anywhere since everybody visits them at least once in a while.

Other people prefer sacrificing the comfort of being able to buy everything they might need in a big supermarket every single time they shop in exchange of better deals, because they'll go to the big shop only once in a while to stock up on staples, then go to the smaller and more urban aldis to get fresh bread and whatever deal might provide a good moment to stock up on certain kinds of products.

Supermarket alone doesn't mean anything because local small supermarkets have limited choice and horrible prices just as well. Those disappeared with the big supermarkets but Aldi has come to occupy the space once occupied by these thanks to the fact that they can do lower prices and have a small surface.

On a much more important note.

British sausage >>>>>>>> any sort of wurst!
don't knock sausages from other countries until you try them, and there must be a reason for british sausage not reaching the european continent anyway.

The problem with the Welsh, and I can say this as I am Welsh, born and raised, and lived there for 28 years... Is that they are as stubborn as pigs muck, and have more national pride than common sense.

So let him have his british sausages.

I'm fine with that, and that's exactly how I use Aldi. I go grocery shopping every two weeks. First time is ghetto shopping, where I hit BigLots(closeout store), the thrift shop, and Aldi. The next time I go to Wegmans( a premium grocery store).
My Butler Eduardo does the same thing! When he does the shopping for me, he hits the ghetto stores and then the big outlet stores and then the Hispanic markets for the veggies and such!! Eduardo is also the cook! Damn can he whip up a fantastic Chili Relleno!! Ummmm

that and the bag of red or yellow onions for ~$2 each. Hard to beat. But their produce is a crapshoot.

I was wrong. Those bags of ~5-7 yellow or red onions, so about 3 lbs? is 70 cents. lol. Well, it was today. Also, 2lb bags of carrots for 60 cents each this week. Aldi is generally good for the root vegetables.

I'll take a Lidl, or any grocery store please. In the city I live in we have one major supermarket, a shop-rite, and then a couple smaller ones. Plus a small produce store. It's not enough for this population density and the main store is a shit show to shop at most of the time. We are getting a Whole Foods in 2020 but we need at least one more regular large grocery store. It's the only main quality of life issue around here. Besides cost of living.
