Licking the Llama!

I found this on Roger Ebert's web site: 😀

Licking the Llama -- In a movie, when a comic actor makes out with an extremely beautiful person, the kiss is often revealed to be nothing more than a dream sequence, and in fact the actor is being licked by a slobbering animal.

Consider the conversion of that cliche to animation wherein sleeping characters are being licked by an animal and exhibit the attitudes of someone having an erotic dream. Also sleeping cartoon characters will unknowingly cuddle dangerous things under the delusion that they are a woman.
In an extension of this, sleeping villains which the protagonist must pass will inevitably grab the character and demand sleepy smooching.

Wow...kinda...in depth...:Q

Ha, but it's funny and true, now that I've thought about it. I have seen that in several cartoons.
