I'm in a scenario where I need better tracking of all the licenses we have. I know there is too many licenses deployed for what is in use and I know there is certain software that there isn't enough license for.
I need better up to date data to fight this mess. I'm looking to be able to manage about 150 PC's and grow. Ideally it would give me vendor, product, key, and type of license it is installed with. Or at least a category to adjust. For example software we have is OEM, retail, volume, node locked, and floating.
I would like lightweight for the agents.
What have you used, cons/pros?
I went to the BSA's site and took a look at Express, AuditWizard, and LicenseMetrics. I can see why they have a handfull of companies listed. Of the ones I tried I am not impressed, I was really hoping to find a product developed specifically for license auditing that would give me details on the license in use.
Ideas?
