Am I alone here but I think I have an explanation for the irrational positions liberals always take.

As Churchill put it (or something close), 'if you are not a liberal at age 20 you are heatless, if you are not a conservative at age 40 you are brainless.' I think he was right. Liberals, if anything strike me as children, with childish ideas of peace and love that have just never grown up. The elite liberals are even worse, because not only have they never grown up, they have never really done anything that the average Joe does. They have lived their lives without facing the same issues as normal people - you know the other 99.9999% of us.

Why is it that damn near every liberal I know or have met is a complete loser in life? Most choose to stay behind as others move into the REAL world, or they always take the easy way out. Why do they constantly come forth with insanely childish comments, ideas, and concepts without ever giving anyone a real world working solution? I rarely see a liberal making a sound argument, they usually just fall back into Bush bashing (perhaps to cover their own failures and inadequecies?) and worthless rants. I am sure we will see plenty here as evidence.

Is there something clinically wrong with the common liberal? Discuss...

Well... let me ask you this. What part of the 'real world' have you faced that makes you so wise? Or even conservatives in general.

Average americans have almost 0% life experience. It is those in cities who deal with humanity and have actually BEEN to a war that are liberals.
Those sheltered of course want the easy way to have theirs and piss on the rest of people. -Suburbanite america.
-Very easy to be an elitest american and hate at the drop of a hat when you have no understanding of culture and how people deal with one another day to day. This goes for everywhere not america.

Drop these so called republicans in a real life situation where there suburban ideals are not the norm and their TV is not god and they fall apart and their sheltered views are shattered. Real Life.

Just so you don't have to face them alone:

My experiences with them is they seem think that words really are all there is. They never seem to acknowledge or understand reality and illusion is just as good. They never seem to take the deep look at anything but focus on the shallows. Like they see the reflections on the surface of a pond and never see the life beneath. They always get pedantic and verbose in their discussions and never seem to understand the simple responses. When 50 words will do, why waste a thousand? When a fact gets their attention, they first try it into the framwork of their objective and if it doesn't fit, they discard or attempt to discredit it. It is a waste of time to present them with facts. All they do then is to try to submerge into useless detail that has little to do with the situation. You can mostly recognize them from their clean fingers and soft hands. When presented with a sales pitch, they are likely to believe it and they do love a politician that talks well, espically if it is all talk. Action frightens them.

I ran an IT system for about 300 liberals and they would first come to me with testimonies about how good they were with PC's. University and all! They always wanted admin logins that they couldn't have. They usually tried to saturate the desktops resources with about a million windows that remained open from the time they logged in until they logged out. Numerous calls about how slow their PC was. They would occassionally sneak in some device that they just had to have to have on the PC that wasn't allowed and then try to make a case for it. They would request every bauble that they saw in a computer mag and would try to make a case for that as well. They would seldom master a DB app and would never pass on it's operation to anyone else. Lauddite was a word they used often to explain why they lost all of their icons and hide all of their email with the stroke of a single key. I never really knew what it meant.

The most irritating thing that they seem to do is to try to capture and hold the intellectual high ground. They make such a point of it without realizing that few even care. The red/blue state thing here was a really good example of that. I've a really good friend who is a liberal and is married to a liberal. He is OK, she is all the bad. She has never found a job that meets her expectations, never a group that meets her social standards. I liked watching her, it was entertaining. Her poor husband is burdened with financeing her schemes and takes it all well. She is unemployed, he works 12 to 14 a day. He does his own laundry, cooks his own food, cleans the apartment, etc.

This is pretty general and some 10% of them don't fit into my mental framework. Sorry to unjustly hurt the feelings of those that don't fit into the above description. They know who they are. The others probably do too.

If they use their brain (implying that their positions are right) then why do they so often have to lie to defend their viewpoints?

Well not all Liberals are like that, however I have to agree with you to an extent. Some of the more crazy Liberal posters on this forum seem to live in some sort of happy fantasy land, where they frolick around and pet bunny rabbits all day long. No such world exists, but they seem to believe that one does. However, there are a good number of crazy conservatives who live in some sort of world full of hatred and fear, as if everyone is trying to kill them.

I have to admit that although I am more liberal than conservative, I find the crazy Liberals that live in a fantasy world to be more annoying.
