That ad pissed me off, and definitely did not make me wanna buy an audi, nevermind anything else running on diesel.

Their green police were clearly over the top caricatures

Were they? You should read up on what many AGW Cultists (some of which are in prominent positions globally) believe is the "solution to the crisis of man-made global warming". You'll be surprised and shocked.

I wonder if the Green Police would approve of what I have done after passing my yearly emissions test!

Trying to characterize a political viewpoint by reference to its most fringe elements, let alone a television commerical intended to sell a product with use of humor, is a tad ridiculous.

If people already think an energy bill will result in things depicted in that commercial, then I can see that we are going to get another series of "death panel" fearmongering when the debate starts.

One used Bobbed Deuce off of eBay $15,000

6 months in the shop, plus parts $30,000

Ability to cause "greenies" to grind teeth, priceless!

how do people get off by polluting the earth. Are you proving your superiority to nature? Is your penis that small you need to compensate for it by damaging something? wow, you're so cool.

Clean diesel is a bad joke, similar to Clean Coal technology. Diesel still puts out way more lung damaging particulates than gasoline engines. After all of the progress we have made cleaning up gasoline engines, it is not the time to throw away all of that progress and adopt dirty diesels.

Speaking for myself, it has nothing to do with cool and everything about releasing the drive that a real man has.

BTW, I wear a size 13 boot, so I'm not lacking in that area! 😱

Edit: Real men drive a Bobbed Deuce. Pussies drive a Prius!

That commercial was my favorite of the night.

It got me thinking, I'll bet the plows, trucks, front end loaders and skid steers removing snow in DC are diesel powered.

They are not powered by solar, electric or wind. 😀

This whole "green" movement was shown for what it really is. It was funny!

Well, from what I know about the Germans, I would say they are rapidly moving towards a world without plastic bottles, bags, powered by renewables, etc. without any Green Police. It is a combination of legislation, culture, and innovation. And their manufacturing base is certainly enjoying investment in the latter.

I can't wait to see what happens to the first country that successfully and efficiently becomes 100% powered by home-grown renewable energies. I can't wait to see what happens when the oil leash comes off. Germany is about 17% of the way there...with a long way to go. But they could be the first.

It would have been funny if instead of a weak prone to breakdown turbo diesel german car at the end, a gas guzzling SUV ran through the checkpoint and a quote saying something like "don't let fascism stop you"

It worked to kill the health care bill.

I think the same tactics should be used to kill the push to end nonexistent Global warming.

I use energy efficient bulbs and recycle, etc, etc. I have a compulsive habit of turning lights out that aren't being used because I dislike waste and inefficiency. Common sense shit that doesn't interfere with my lifestyle.

But I also drive a car with over 500 HP and floor it every chance I get because it's damn fun, and don't give a damn about "carbon footprints". When they are outlawed, I will defend my property from opposition with deadly force. When they are no longer produced, they will also need to ban CNC machines to stop me from having one anyway.

There is common sense like cleaning up spills and not blatantly wasting things that take zero effort to recycle or dispose of safely, then there is paranoid delusion of religious cult status ie: global warming fanatics. Carbon dioxide and dihydrogen monoxide are pollutants lmao. Still waiting for oxygen to be added to the list.

This ad spotlights additional Liberal hypocrisy.

Liberals have Hollywood propagandists cranking out film after film of Liberal world view.

When we (the good guys- aka Conservatives) score a really funny hit on a Liberal sacred cow, they go nuts!

Really? Can you stick your head further in the sand? The "fringe elements" depicted in the commercial are already happening...in our country (let's not even talk about the zaniness that's happening in the UK)!

One moment in particular resonated with San Franciscans: A man standing at a sink prepares to dump a rind in his sink's disposal unit -- an act ostensibly banned by San Francisco's new composting mandate, one of Mayor Gavin Newsom's many green initiatives.
