Ferrari announced today that the first six months of 2011 have been the best in the company’s history. The Italian automaker posted a record revenue of $1.1 billion for the first six months of this year and delivered a record 3,577 units or 11.8 percent more than the first half of 2010. Sales also increased in the U.S by 23.9 percent to 939. Chinese sales have increased 116 percent to 378 vehicles.

Seems to me that consumer spending is better than ever. I don't know why everyone's always screaming that the economy is crap, there's too much unemployment, etc. Or that gas is too expensive. If gas were too expensive people wouldn't be buying cars that get 12mpg! :colbert:

FTFY: The economy is fine (for the rich).

Yes, good thing we didn't let the tax cuts expire for the rich, they wouldn't have been able to buy those extra Ferraris.

Well, if Ferrari selling 939 whole cars in the US isn't an indicator that the economy is gangbusters, and unemployment is just overblown, then I don't know what is

Ah - trickle down economics at it's finest. Now, the Ferrari dealers can tip the waiters a bit more when they eat out.

And it doesnt really matter anyway since 900 of those 939 cars are going to spend 99.5% of their time locked up in a very secure garage lest they be vandalized by the very people they robbed in order to get those cars.

Trickle down economics........... in Italy.

Trickle down economics is where economic frustration and generalized rage results is the election of folk like the tea party who piss on the nation. We have so much self hate we just can't wait to fuck ourselves.

Trickle down economics - when the rich urinate on the middle/lower classes and republicans publicly proclaim, 'see? It works!'

Haha

Job creators are not doing their job creating jobs. They downsize, cut investments and... buy Ferraris. Cool.

After many years of working hard to better myself via education and many hours of unpaid overtime on the job, I finally got a bigger slice of the American pie! Too bad, somebody else had already taken a few bites by the time it got to my table. :(

Trickle up poverty (socialism) - when the poor urinate on the middle/upper classes and Democrats publicly proclaim, 'see? It works!'

No, no, you don't get it. If all his employees put their chairs in his office and sit on the floor, soon after they'll breed new luxurious chairs for everyone.

Is this a troll thread? I can't fathom how the OP can really think that the sales of a luxury car company has anything to do with the state of an entire economy. The rich are just buying more cars, ie: rich getting richer, poor getting poorer. Geez...
