Lian-Li

I was thinking about getting the aluminium PC-7, the one listed here: NewEgg; Lian-Li for $108+ship. Does anyone have any comments for this case or for the company(Lian-Li)? I am also going to need a silver bezel cover for my Lite-On CDRW. None of the models they have listed here NewEgg bezel covers match the layout of my drive. Does anyone know of another place in the U.S. to purchase these from? This is what the layout of my drive looks like: Drive Face.

EDIT: I just saw the other thread with the link to the "Stealth Mod" and I think I will try that before searching for a silver bezel for my lite-on drive.

I recently bought this case, and I have to say I'm quite impressed. One thing to note is that it doesn't have a fan speed selector switch (like the PC-60) but that's not too big of a deal really. It does come with three fans, as I'm sure you know, which is great. The removable HDD bay is really a nice feature, in my opinion, and everything is thumb-screw based, which is handy as well. It's pretty spacious, and there are no sharp edges exposed.

All in all I would recommend this case.

AFAIK there is no premade drive cover for the liteon drives.

I have done the stealth drive mod myself and it looks sweet. However, I recommend you check out your local CompUSA store first(!?!). I know, I know, I've never purchased anything from CompUSA before but they recently started dabbling in the market of case modding, and they now sell about three models of Lian-Li cases, some with windows in the side. After checking around, I got my Lian-Li PC-60 from them for $129 without the hassle of shipping. In my opinion, if you are gonna spend the money for Lian-Li you should get the PC-60 because it comes with a fan speed switch for the case fans, and most importantly, it has a slide-out motherboard tray that allows you to pull the motherboard out through the back WITH all the PCI/AGP cards installed and the heatsink still on the processor. Either way, nobody has ever been sorry for purchasing a Lian-Li case, it's arguably one of the best quality cases on the market.

The outside of the Lian-Li case is clear anodized brushed aluminum (which makes it durable) but the inside is just raw machined aluminum. For this reason, I decided to tear the entire thing apart when I first got it, and I spent an evening with metal polish, jewelers rouge, and buffing compound, and I polished the inside metal components of the case to a mirror finish. This looks really nice with my blue cold cathode tubes installed on the inside. I have gotten a lot of comments on how cool it looks with a brushed outside look and polished inside.

I have a Lian-Li PC-68 that I bought from mpcparts.com ($122). Very nice case.

I also have non-aluminum devices, but that was very easy to fix.

Went to Home Depot, picked up a can of professional strength Aluminum Rustoleum enamel. Came home, removed the faceplates, and sprayed em down. The paint only costs $10, and was dry enough to install within an hour.
