Lian Li PC60USB+top exhaust fan

I just purchased a Lian Li PC60USB locally, and it has a top exhaust fan, which is the first time Ive seen this model with a top exhaust fan. I was wondering if the top exhaust fan is worth having since my main concerns are foreign objects including dust falling through the top fan hole, and the possible added noise from an additional fan since the Lian Li cases with just two intake and one rear exhaust fan seem to be pretty quiet. I don't do any extreme overclocking, only mild so was wondering if it's worth keeping this case or getting one without the top exhaust fan.

It's not necessary, though it would lower case temps. I'd say if you'd rather not put up with the extra noise then get the model w/o the top exhasut. But, I wouldn't worry too much about things falling in there as long as you have a grill on it.

If you don't need the extreme over the top cooling, i'd suggest getting a model without a top fan. It is just going to add noise, it's not going to improve cooling enough to warrant having it.

I have seen this model with the top fan and it looks nice. I think they have it at newegg. I wouldnt worry about things falling in or even extra dust since the fan does blow out. I wouldnt purchase that model though, cpus are running cooler nowadays plus I really dont like the extra noise.

Thanks for the information/advice, I ended up taking it back and exchanging it for the PC65B, the black one with a window. Im not overly sensitive to noise or anything, but I dont see any reason to add any unecessary noise if the fan doesnt help with cooling that much. I wonder if all the future PC6X model lian li cases are going to have the top exhaust fan, all the silver cases the shop has have the top exhaust fan.

I can`t really see a top fan helping anything in a Lian LI bar cooling the CDROM drives as the upper area is generally where all the PSU wires get stuffed to keep the lower part of the case tidy and airflow friendly.. Where top fans DO come into their own is in Slot-1 cases where the CPU is under the powersupply being starved of air.
