Lian-Li PC6070Plus or Antec P180?

I'm in the market for a new case. I just gone done building this computer and the only bad choice I made is the case. The cooling isn't too bad I think, CPU is at 44C max load, but I think that's because mostly of my 100+CFM delta Fan.

Out of thes two cases which would you guys recomend? Like I said, I have a 100CFM fan blowing on my XP90, so it's not so quiet, but I'm not willing to give up cooling for a totaly silent case.

I don't so much talk about the Lian-LI PC6070Plus, but alot of talk about the P180. I'm wondering if that's because the P180 is a newer case

Any input and opinions on this is gratly appreciated.

The P180 is not the way to go if you want easy cable management. The PSU is mounted on the bottom, so all cables have to come up and over the motherboard area. I haven't seen the 6070, but it's probably a better idea.

p180 will pose some issue with cable management, but if you have the time and the artistic sense you can still do a nice job...someone posted pictures of his nicely managed P180

Well if you have patience, then you most certainly can have some excellent cable management in a P180, so don't decide to not get it because you think it is impossible to hide cables, because it is not. Here are some pics of mine, I think I did a pretty good job.

Exceptions to every rule. 😉

I saw your thread before, and was simply amazed by the amount of work you put in to clean it up. No one said it was impossible, as you can so prove, but it's definitely a bit trickier than some other cases. 🙂

Yea it probably is a bit trickier than some case, but I think its worth it. This case is excellent.

It is a very excellent case, and yours looks awesome too!!

Wow, that does look clean. Is there room behind the motherboard to sneak wires from the PSU up and over? Is that where most of the wires are hidden?

All my wires are hidden behind the upper hard drive cage... there is no room behind the mobo tray at all though, the doors wouldn't be able to close.

That case looks nice!

Is that the plus model or the non-plus model. I know the plus model has more fans and is suppose to have better ventilation

Sorry, I know this is not my thread but I need to ask Dynamix3D a quetsion and this is the only way how: You have a CM Real Power 450W PSU and winnie, same as me. I'm having some probs with my system (don't think it's PSU related but want to get some feedback) how is this power supply working for you? Stable? Good voltages? Are you happy with it? Thanks.

Lian Li rox. I'd personally go that route. Antec does make nice cases, but you can never go wrong with Lian Li.

You sure as heck CAN go wrong with Lian Li. The OP has an A8N-SLI Premium that has a heat-pipe cooled chipset. In the Lian Li V1100 and V2100 cases, the motherboard is mounted upside down and the chipset on the A8N-SLI Premium burns up. That would not be a problem with the 6070 under consideration here, but the P180 is easily twice the case the 6070 is. There's nothing innovative about the 6070. It's all-aluminum, and therefore will be an inherently noisy case. The PSU is mounted at the top of the case and not thermally isolated from the motherboard compartment, so it's not going to have the cooling advantages of the P180. Deciding between these two cases is slam-dunk easy. I don't see any reason to even consider the Lian Li here.

Lian Li migh "rox," but the 6070 is not in the same league or century as the Antec P180.

Wow! That thing is a work of art! Beautifully done! I can't even see how you got power to the rear fan. And the cable routing is certainly not as Antec intended. I'd be looking for a way to completely seal off the rear cable opening between the lower compartment and the upper compartment for better thermal isolation of the PSU, but the cable management is by far the best I've ever seen in a P180. It puts my effort to shame, and I spent what I thought was a lot of time on it. 🙁

Thanks for pointing those out to me.

Went by Frys today, and had a first hand look at the P180. It's a nice looking case. Still wondering where all the cool airflow could come from. I saw one fan at the bottom and two up top. Where is the intake? I'm assuming the top two would be exhaust?

I'd really like to get this case cause of the rave about it being silent. At the same time, what's holding me back is that I can't figure out how well it'll cool on Air. The case I have now, although a bit loud, keeps everything cool with CPU at 33C at MD at 32C idle and CPU at 43C Max load, and MB at 38C Max load. I want similar temps with the new case.

Silence would be nice, but cooling is still a priority. I currently have two intakes in this case and two exhausts. I've only noticed one intake on the P180 and that's at the bottom and I can't figure out where the second optional intake would go. If someone would be so kind to show me where it would be located that would really be great. Thanks.

The entire front of the case below the external drive bays is intake. There's no impediment to air flow through that area when the door's closed, either, because of approximately 25 in² of openings in the side and bottom panels just behind the door. If that turns out not to enough, you can install an optional front intake fan. There's another fairly large intake in the "VGA air duct." Even if that's not installed the 4 x 14-cm grill on the rear panel remains open for intake. You are correct in surmising that the top two are exhaust fans.

The P180 is awesome for cooling. Don't let worries about cooling dissuade you. Keeping the PSU and the HDs thermally isolated in the lower compartment is a huge step toward reducing motherboard temps. Beyond that there is abundant air flow through the upper compartment with two exhaust fans in the immediate vicinity of the CPU (as placed on most motherboards), with one intelligently placed on the top panel to immediately exhaust hot air rising from the CPU. If you're a gamer or have apps that really stress the CPU and/or video cards, just give all the fans dynamic control, and the computer will run cool and silent most of the time but still be able to cool very adequately during periods of high activity. Read the reviews at Silent PC Review if you have any reservations about the ability of the case to run cool.

Two 120 x 120 intakes on the front, one of which can receive an optional fan.
One 4 x 14 cm intake on the rear, which can be powered by an 80-mm fan in the VGA duct.
Intakes around the external drive bay openings are significant.

The top intake requires the purchase of an additonal fan. You have to pull out the drive cage. Then you have to pull out the thick plastic bracket that is used to hold the fan. Due to the bracket, it's hard to see where the fan goes from a casual look at the interior, but it's there.

I currently run two 120mm Panaflos in my case, so I can just port those over and purchase two more.

I really appreciate the help guys.

Now I just need to make sure the PC Power and Cooling PSU will reach over the back of the Motherboard. It's the Turbo Cool 510 SLI version, anyone know if it'll work?

So you're going to ditch all three of the Antec fans that come in the case? That's might result in wasting some money. Remember that the Antecs all have built-in 12-7-5V controllers. At their low settings they really don't make any noise, and unless you're stressing your CPU and video card for long periods, you may not need to run them any faster. Of course, those Panaflos are sweet. I have a 120mm Panaflo on my CPU, and I sort of wish I had them in the other positions, but if I did, I'd need to install a fan controller, and that would make cable management more difficult. I thought the Antecs were just too good to take out and ditch.
