I have been putting together my list of components recently, but the case seems to always be up in the air. I have read a ton of various reviews and really enjoy the Lian-Li's look and construction. The one thing I always see is the v1000, however, I was looking more at the rustic pc-61 (just the black version of the pc-60). Is there a particular reason why this model isn't mentioned too often anymore. I'd like a case that will stand the test of time and upgrades.

The PC-60 series is aging. That doesn't mean it would be a poor choice. Newer cases have some improvements. You won't put a 120mm fan in it without some work.

I just put the third mainboard in my PC-60 USB model. My only complaints are minor. It doesn't use drive rails. I love drive rail cases. It's noisy. Most of the noise in my situation is generated by the powersupply though. My hard drives would make a really neat sounding echo when they got read and the side panel was off. A steel case won't do that.

Lian-Li cases are elegant to look at. Aside from being rail-less they are easy to work with. They are very light in weight. That is good for whenever you need to move it. The wiring harness is designed to allow quick removal of the mainboard tray without individually disconnecting everything on the front panel.

I agree with Trumphent's comments, the PC-61, and variants, are very nice cases but are a little old school at this point. I receintly bought one and can't decide if I'm going to build it or try to trade out. Pro's include light weight, high build quality, and a motherboard tray. Cons include lightweight side panels which may tend to make noise, use of 80mm fans, and no drive rails.

Overall I think it's a very nice case however I don't think it belongs in the elite catagory at this time.

My opinon of course.
