Liablility Only Insurance

I paid off my car a while ago. It's only worth around $4500. I was driving it everyday but have recently started car pooling. So now I'm only going to be driving it on the weekends. I'm thinking I should get the least amount of insurance on it since it sits in a garage literally all week.

But what are the risks of liability only? Does anyone else have this type of insurance? Is there any strong reason not to get this type of insurance?

Definately go the liability way with the value like that. My car is worth more than yours and I have liability on it.

A lot of people have liability only when their cars dont worth much (5 yrs or older). If you think you're a safe driver, go ahead and drop collision.

I only carry liability on mine, because the car is only worth about $2500 or so. And I sure don't need to be paying the insurance company that much every two years or so.

Does it cover anything if you get hit by an uninsured person?

That's a different category. Called "Uninsured Motorist" coverage. Not part of liability. Most people get that I think.

Okay, I just called and changed my coverage.

So from what the lady told me with liability if I get hit by an unisured person my insurance company will cover my bodily injury, but not the car. But I figure then I would just sue, right? Either way the odds are probably in my favor that it's not going to happen so I went ahead and changed. Only saved me $46 a month...but that's $46 more for me.

Thanks for the quick replys.
