LGA775 with AGP motherboard recommendation

don't need onboard sound/video, it would be very nice to have gb lan or lan for that matter, and if possible firewire, but not necessary as i have a pci firewire card already. i have soundcard + video card. i need an ago slot, because the current PCI-e graphics cards are a bit expensive, and i found a firegl t2-128 agp8x that i'll be using instead. also, it must have dual channel capability.

the question is, i want to upgrade to a p4 3.0ghz or 3.2ghz lga775 cpu, and i think i won't be upgrading for the next 1-2 years. so, i want to get a motherboard that may accept a future cpu processor (maybe 4ghz when it comes out?) is something like that available?

any recommendations? i've been looking at these:

ABIT AS8 i865PE

any experiences with these?

Your choices may be the only ones. You won't get many responses as few are going with socket 775 and agp. Most are choosing 775 for pci-e. If you don't need pci-e, I would go with socket 478 and overclock it. My 2.8c does 3.64 with a 300w power supply and 1.54 volts. Intel won't have a 4 gig cpu for awhile, and when they do, you'll probably need a new motherboard. 1066 fsb is the next move by Intel, and my 865pe board is close to it at 1040 (260 x 4).

I would go with the AS8, I have seen a few over at Xtreme getting 4 GHz OCs out of there 3.0 775's.

i think soltek makes a 755/865 mobo, im pretty sure i saw a review done by anandtech awhile back.

yeah, it was a very recent review, but a can't find those mb's anywhere that Soltek would be even better.

anyhow, between de Gigabyt and the Abit, anyone besides Spqqky had any experiences or heard anything? both are within the same price range.

I like the gigabyte board, very nice. 235$ at mwave.com but it's got 8 SATA, PCI-E and 1394b

now i really don't know if a want a s478 or a s775 p4, since i won't be upgrading for a few years (except more ram maybe) and can't afford the new PCI-E video cards. i was thinking of the 775 because the prices of both processors and mb's are within the same range (and there are those two boards that have AGP8x), so budget really isn't the question.
