LGA775 Compatibility

I'm looking at the following motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-180-063&depa=0

Is it compatible with this CPU?:

The only reason I ask is simply because I'm seeing many different variations on these boards in terms of the supported CPU. I'm seeing LGA775 Pentium 4(HT) and LGA775 Pentium 4 Prescott. Will this difference make it so that this mobo and CPU are incompatible?

I'd hate to make a purchase and then later find out that they weren't compatible. Thank you for your time. 🙂
 
All those things you said were the same thing. The LGA775 Pentium 4 (HT) is the Prescott, and they are all LGA775 chipset form factor.

I have the same version of that processor except the 550. Might want to think about a quieter heatsink than the stock. I got the Zalman 7700 Cu

You're good to go.
 
As to not make a whole new thread, I'll post in this one:
Well, this makes me mad. The soltek mobo I was looking at from newegg has now raised its price to $125. I'm on a strict budget, so that kind of dumped on my plans. The only other two motherboards that lie within my budget range are either a Biostar or a Jetway motherboard. I've heard of Biostar before, but the features on this motherboard were lacking and it had a chipset of which I was not acquainted with.
This jetway mobo: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-153-021&depa=0 has a decent chipset and even onboard video (of which I need). The only thing that is making me hesitant to purchase it is the fact that it's a particularily unknown brand. Even a google search didn't yield any decent results.
Has anybody ever had any experience with this brand?

This computer isn't for me. I'm building it for a relative of mine (grandma to be exact) who will be using it for word processing, her digital camera and photo software, and browsing the internet. I've already acquired the CPU seen in my first post, so that's not something that I can budge one. So right now I'm basically stuck with Socket T/LGA775 and Intel.
I'll explain the full story as to why I have to tweak my components just give me a couple minutes. :l

Basically, my relative was stuck with an old computer that's closing in on 4 years of age. She's not the most computer-literate person I know, so through the years of neglect and virtually no maintenance, the computer has gone caput. I believe it consisted of an Intel Celeron processor (under 1 GHz) and 64MB of RAM.
I promised her that I'd build her a new computer for a decent amount of money (I've kept it just under $600, so that's why my budget is rather strict).
My first motherboard is no longer in stock and newegg has discontinued selling that particular mobo. I RMAd that mobo (it didn't work even after inspection by a certified computer store) and with this, newegg has refunded me the money on that mobo. $104 to be exact.
I'm not too sure on the ramifications regarding whether or not I can spend this money outside of newegg or not..but for now I just want to find a decent LGA775 compatible motherboard with onboard audio, video, and LAN.

Why does your grandma need that fast of a CPU? Is she going to be playing HL2? You could have saved a lot of money and bought a Celeron.

The original product was around $100. You'll see the reasons why I can't go much above that in my edited post.

Well, not to be offensive, but I'm not here to recieve information regarding what others think I should have bought. Since purchasing these parts I've acquired a lot of knowledge about computers, and if given the chance to take back some purchases, I would. But I'm stuck with what I have, so I'll have to make do.

I would not buy second tier motherboards. Stick with a good company.

I am always curious when somebody gets high end cpus and high end stuff for web browsing. Didn't mean to get you worked up.
 
Why not use a high end. I was on a 1ghz machine that was getting 100% cpu utilization just from a stupid flash animation. The faster the better, no matter what you're using it for.
