I just got the LG VX6000 phone from Verizon. It's awesome and is much better than my old Nokia 3xxx series 10lb belt weight that I got in 1999. Sometimes I just like to flip it open to see the awesome colors and features that this phone has. Then I close it to see the lights dancing brilliantly for me on the front and the scolling message beckoning me to open the camera again just one more time to take a little peek at it's glorious wonder.

I almost bit the bullet for this phone but backed off ..it's like $99 at Circuit city with $50 gift card so it's like $49. However, it lacks a speakerphone so I decided against it. I know you can hack it to use a speakerphone by pushing a few buttons but that's only for when your calling them.

Anyone know of a basic verizon cell phone that has a speakerphone. Don't say the treo 600 cuz for me it has too many glitches. I might buy the 610 if they improve those and increase the screen brightness.

Treo 600 isn't out for verizon yet, AFAIK.

Not sure which Vz phones have speakerphone, but the VX6000 is easily the best in show as far as usability and reception goes, so there's really no reason to look for another one.

I got two for my fiancee and brother for $100 each back in November. Everybody has this phone now. 3 of her friends now even have it. Kinda ruins the fun huh ?

I actually chose a free Kyocera 2325 because of the ringtones alone and am waiting for VZW to pick up the sliders. When they come out, I can get a phone that EVERYBODY else will have too. :D

I saw a good USB cable that the people over at howardforums are raving about for $30 + shipping from Ebay. I haven't bought the cable myself but am tempted to do so. I can look up the link if you want me to.

You can get a vx6000 USB cable from Tangshop.com for about $20 + shipping, I should be getting mine in the mail this weekend.

LG 4500 has 2 way speakerphone and voice commands. So you say the number and it dials unlike voice recognition this is very useful. But it has no analog only digital.

Yes, with this cable and the right version of "BitPim", you can download pics, ringtones, edit your phonebook, and charge your phone via usb.

You'll need BitPim version 0.62 or higher.

BitPim is a freeware app that lets you do the things that Verizon would charge you for otherwise. There's also "modem" drivers so you can use this phone as an internet connection for a laptop or desktop.

BitPim info/download here: BitPim

Does it not have Bluetooth?
I picked up a SonyEricsson T610 the other day, and with a cheap (£19) Bluetooth USB dongle, I can transfer all the data & junk wirelessly from anywhere in my flat, it rocks :D

Ok, I have the cable.
I have downloaded and installed the BitPim 0.62 and no luck. Detects new hardware, but can't find the drivers. Seems liek a problem with my USB port and the cable and phone rather than the BitPim. So, where would one find these drivers? Or am I using a version for Vx4400 phone on a Vx6000 phone?

Any ideas?

You should have waited until the end of this month when the LG 7000 comes out. It has a built in flash
