Silver lining is that I bought it at Best Buy and nabbed the extended warranty.

It worked fine yesterday. Today I turned it on and it's just dead. Light comes on, screen flickers, but it doesn't display the input it's on, none of the input buttons work on the side. I've pulled the power cord, let it sit, and plugged everything back in. No dice.

Think it's something that they'll even attempt at repairing? Or just write off and let me cash in on the warranty?

I bought it two years ago so I can upgrade to a 50" 1080p for the same price I paid for this one. :D

The way it usually works:

They will take it and either:

1. Send it to a repair house to see if it can be fixed.

2. Come to your house and see if it can be fixed.

If they determine that it can't be fixed they will:

1. Give you a new set of equivalent value

2. Replace your current set with the same one

If it can be fixed...it obviously will be repaired. However, some stores take a very long time to do this. You can try to push to receive a replacement TV in the meantime, but this policy varies by store.

Note that they may give you the "equivaent value" in depreciated terms. I don't think this is too common but I believe it is technically the policy as stated.
