I paid a $70 ETF on 2 phones (wifes and mine). And VM will still be cheaper after those 7 months 🙂 My Hero really sucked more so then most other Heros im sure. But with the 2.2 Froyo and new specs this phone seems to be a lot faster. At least to me. You tube videos at home on wifi load up with no buffering studder, where as on my Hero it just plan took forever to watch any videos.

Ive only had it 3 days and so far im extremely happy. Other then the "Word for Friends" app with its way to many ads LOL.
 
This is my first android phone and I love it. I got a free GPS app this morning and it got me to a interview on time.
 
Does anyone know how to get free live wallpapers that are cool looking? The stock ones suck.
Oh the GPS I used was called waze, It worked pretty good for being free.

I'm not sure how the phone would do with a good live wallpaper since it's not a super powerful phone.

I installed the live fish tank wallpaper and its butter smooth. You double tap the screen to feed the fish and they swim all over the homescreens with no lag at all.
 
I don't have a case for mine just a screen protector. If he is careless maybe he should get a gel case, they are real grippy. Id steer clear from otterbox cases, my buddy dropped his iphone on a hard wood floor and busted the inside lcd. It was $80 to fix it too.
 
cool thanks, i've been checking. seems like optimus s stuff fits for optimus v. i'll probably tell him to get a cheap gel and hard and see what he likes.
 
This is a pretty solid phone for being made of plastic. So last night the dog tripped me and I dropped the phone with no case on it. It fell 4ft down, bounced down two concrete steps the battery flew out and landed in the gravel driveway. I was pretty pissed and scared to see the damage. 2small nicks on the side and the silver bezel got scuffed a little.

Thanks to the plastic screen and a screen protector no damage was done there lol. Just to the side where the SD card goes. Pretty durable for being plastic I must say
 
I'm getting my optimus modded tomorrow. $40 at the cell phone store to get the following. Cyanogen mod 7 with ginger bread, the back up, recovery.super user, set cpu and a new gel case. He said he will over clock the cpu and walk me thru everything. Do you think thats a good deal?

Make sure picture messaging (MMS) works after all that.
 
So i took the phone over there tonight and its a no go for right now. There wasn't a official clockwork or cyanogen mod on the cyanogen mod web page so the dude wouldn't mod my phone. I had links to the files on my phone all book marked and he wouldn't do it. He said he didn't trust the source and said he didn't want it to be a crappy rom and me be mad if my phone was running like a hot turd
