HI
Time to replace my old monitor. I have enough gift cards from Best Buy to buy a new monitor. I like the price on the LG led monitors sold at Best Buy.
Is LG a decent brand to buy??

Their horrible. My cuz bought a 24" LG , and it broke basially then went back to Frys and bought the last one they had. That one died in less then a year. Also theres a lot of smudge etc..... You want a real PC mon go with Sony or Samsung. thx

They gave LG that is him, same 24 inch but refurbished... so their support sux too.

Let LG make phones,, thats all they know how to do. You want something with a long life span like 15 years, and Sony or Samsung will give you that. Also burn in too..... gl

Yeah, they're usually pretty good. I'd say they're middle of the road for TN. Buy the size you want and take it home, if you don't like it swap for something else.

My Nephew bought a 24" LG monitor, very nice. Important thing to do hen buying a LCD Monitor is to buy Dead Pixel Protection, basically $10-20 worth of Insurance that will replace the monitor with no hassle if it has dead pixels. Like any Brand though, not all LG Models are going to be Very Good/Excellent. Be sure to Google up Reviews of any Monitor you might be looking at before making the Purchase. In the $200-300 range(I assume that monitor is in that Price Range)there are a ton of Monitors from scads of Manufacturers, some of those Models are going to stand out as preferable buys.

LG makes superior monitors. It's simple as that. Check out high end Dell or Apple monitors, they use LG IPS panels. Ultra high end EIZO monitors use LG IPS panels.

As for TN monitors, they're okay as all the other makers'.

HI
I will check out the LG monitors at Best Buy again. The last time I looked at them every LG monitor seemed to be dark and faded when compared to the others on display at the Best Buy store. They probably "play" with the settings on the monitors just like they do and the televisoins to make some look bad and others look good. The only LG that looked good was the LED monitor that was being on the shelf beside the $350 Samsung LED monitor..... Those Best Buy gift cards are just screaming to be spent! LOLOL
Thanks

If you're in the States, LG doesn't make very good monitors (with a few exceptions, eg the LG Flatron L227WTG, which was one of the better TN displays). As Cattykitt observed, LG.Display does make the IPS panels in almost all high-end computer monitors (NEC, Apple, the better Dell and HP), but the LG brand monitors with IPS panels aren't on sale in America.

An LG TV, on the other hand, will probably be using an LG.Display IPS panel.

LG IPS panels are the best on the market.

They actually manufacture the screens that all of the other premium makers use.

The cheaper LG displays however, will use TN panels which aren't as nice. All of the cheaper brands use TN though, so there will be no real difference other than styling / menu options / etc.

My current LCD is a LG W2353V-PF 23" and it's one of the best i've owned.

I replaced my Viewsonic VX922 (19", 4:3 format) which blasted the greens and looked nice in the days.

AFAIK, LG make top LCD panels and i'm 100% satisfied with mine!
